2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Specs, Price, Features, Mileage and Review
The capability of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup to do laborious tasks is inherited and forms an essential component of the family DNA. Nothing has changed about the way Chevy’s full-size pickup truck works on ranches, gets dirty at construction sites, or transports boats to lake houses over the past several generations; in fact, nothing has changed about how it works now. There is a broad variety of powertrain options available for the current production model of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. These alternatives include a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, two different V-8 engines, and a Duramax diesel engine. Even while the bigger gas V-8 is a standard feature and is likely one of the smoothest engines available, it is not enough to make up for the fact that the Silverado’s ride can occasionally get a little bit too bumpy. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has a large touchscreen display on the inside, but it does not come close to matching the level of luxury seen in the GMC Ram 1500. The towing capability of the Silverado 1500 is literally more than that of the Ram 1500 and the Sierra 1500, which are both considered to be direct competitors. There is also the jacked-up Silverado 1500 ZR2 (reviewed separately), which is perfect for mud enthusiasts, but it won’t get you as far back into the woods or as high in the air as wilder off-roaders like the Ram TRX and the Ford F-150 Raptor.
What’s in Store for the Year 2024?
A few revisions have been made to the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for the 2024 model year, however, none of them are particularly significant. Chevy adds two new metallic paint options, Lakeshore Blue and Slate Gray. Silverados packing the 420-hp 6.2-liter V-8 now get an active exhaust, making the truck sound angrier when driven in sport mode. The High Country trim is now ready to be purchased in the Midnight Edition. The Blackout appearance package can now be added on Custom, Custom Trail Boss, RST, and LT Trail Boss models. OnStar and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have been made standard on all Silverados, even the base Work Truck. Finally, Chevy renames its 310-hp 2.7-liter four-cylinder “TurboMax.”
