2019 Fiat 124 Spider Fuses and Fuse Box | How to fix a Blown Fuse
There are fuses and a fuse box system in the 2019 Fiat 124 Spider that are very important for protecting the car’s electrical parts. The fuse box usually sits in an easy-to-reach spot, like the engine room or the cabin’s interior. It holds different fuses that are meant to protect different circuits. Fuses are safety devices that stop the flow of electricity when there is a problem or an overload. This keeps important parts from getting damaged. If some electronic parts of your Fiat 124 Spider aren’t working, like lights or power accessories, it could be because of a blown fuse. To fix a blown fuse, you need to find the bad fuse (which is usually easy to spot because it has a broken wire inside) and replace it with a new one that has the same amperage value. To make sure you get the right diagnosis and new fuse, you must look at the car’s manual or fuse box cover for a detailed diagram and explanation of what each fuse does. To keep yourself safe while you’re fixing something, always be careful and unplug the battery before working on the fuse box.

REPLACING FUSES
General Information
Warning!
- When replacing a blown fuse, always use an appropriate replacement fuse with the same amp rating as the original fuse. Never replace a fuse with another fuse of a higher amp rating. Never replace a blown fuse with metal wires or any other material. Do not place a fuse inside a circuit breaker cavity or vice versa. Failure to use proper fuses may result in serious personal injury, fire, and/or property damage.
- Before replacing a fuse, make sure that the ignition is off and that all the other services are switched off and/or disengaged.
- If the replaced fuse blows again, contact an authorized dealer.
- If a general protection fuse for safety systems (air bag system, braking system), power unit systems (engine system, transmission system), or steering system blows, contact an authorized dealer.
Your vehicle’s electrical system is protected by fuses.
If any lights, accessories, or controls do not work, inspect the appropriate circuit protector. If a fuse has blown, the inside element will be melted. If the same fuse blows again, go to an authorized dealer as soon as possible.
Fuse location
Fuses are grouped in two fuse boxes located in the interior on the left side of the vehicle and under the hood.
Interior Fuses
If the electrical system does not work, first inspect the fuses on the vehicle’s left side.
Proceed as follows:
- Make sure the ignition is placed in the OFF mode, and other switches are turned off.
- Open the fuse panel cover (located near the door).
Fuse Panel Cover - Press the retaining clip and remove the protection cover.
- Pull the fuse straight out with the fuse puller provided on the fuse block located in the engine compartment.
Fuse Puller - Inspect the fuse and replace it if it is blown.
Fuses- Normal Fuse
- Blown Fuse
- Insert a new fuse of the same amperage rating, and make sure it fits tightly. If it does not fit tightly, contact your authorized dealer. If you have no spare fuses, borrow one of the same rating from a circuit not essential to vehicle operation, such as the audio or outlet circuit.
- Reinstall the cover and make sure that it is securely installed.
Note: Always replace a fuse with a genuine FCA fuse or equivalent of the same rating. Otherwise, you may damage the electric system.
Underhood Fuses
If the headlights or other electrical components do not work and the fuses in the cabin are normal, inspect the fuse block in the engine compartment. If a fuse is blown, it must be replaced.
Make sure the ignition is placed in the OFF mode, and other switches are turned off, and remove the fuse block cover. If the lock is forcefully opened, the fuse block cover may come in contact with the frame when it is removed and become scratched.
When removing the cover, remove it slowly according to the following procedure:
- Disengage the rear lock by pressing down on the front tab with your fingers.
Underhood Fuse Block- Lock
- Cover
- Remove the front tab while slightly lifting the front of the cover.
- Remove the cover while lifting it and sliding it to the rear.
- If any fuse but the main fuse is blown, replace it with a new one of the same amperage rating.
Fuse- Normal Fuse
- Blown Fuse
- Reinstall the cover and make sure that it is securely installed.

FAQs
Fuses protect electrical components by breaking the circuit if there’s a power surge. They prevent damage to the car’s electrical system.
The fuse box in the 2019 Fiat 124 Spider is typically located in the engine compartment or inside the cabin, depending on the model.
Check for a broken filament inside the fuse or use a multimeter to test continuity. Additionally, the fuse might have a burnt appearance.
See the owner’s manual for the specific fuse types and sizes. Typically, they are mini-blade fuses.
Overloading the circuit, a short circuit or faulty electrical components can lead to blown fuses.
Turn off the ignition, locate the blown fuse, use the fuse puller or needle-nose pliers to remove it, and replace it with a new fuse of the same rating.
No, using a higher-rated fuse can cause damage to the electrical system. Always replace with the recommended fuse rating.
Some models may come with spare fuses. Check the fuse box cover or the owner’s manual for information.
Avoid overloading circuits, address electrical issues promptly, and use the correct accessories to prevent blown fuses
Common electrical issues may include problems with the convertible top, lighting, or infotainment system.
No, once a fuse is blown, it needs to be replaced. It’s a safety feature designed to protect the electrical system.
Replacing a fuse is a relatively simple task and can be done by the owner. However, if you’re unsure, consulting a professional is advisable.
A fuse puller or needle-nose pliers and replacement fuses of the correct rating are the basic tools needed.
Regularly inspect the electrical components, address any issues promptly, and follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for maintenance.
