Alfa Romeo SEATS Guide

Seats are a part of the Occupant Restraint system of the vehicle.

WARNING!

• It is dangerous to ride in a cargo area, inside or outside of a vehicle. In a collision, people riding in these areas are more likely to be seriously injured or killed.
• Do not allow people to ride in any area of your vehicle that is not equipped with seats and seat belts. In a collision, people riding in these areas are more likely to be seriously injured or killed.
• Be sure everyone in your vehicle is in a seat and using a seat belt properly.

Manual Seat Adjustment

Adjusting The Seat Forward Or Rearward
The adjustment lever is at the front of the seat, near the floor. Pull the bar upward to move the seat forward or rearward. Release the bar once the seat is in the desired position. Using body pressure, move forward and rearward on the seat to be sure that the seat adjusters have latched.

Adjusting The Seat Up Or Down
Push the height adjustment button upward or downward to obtain your desired height.

Reclining The Seatback
To adjust the seatback, lift the recline lever located on the outboard side of the seat, lean back to the desired position and release the lever. To return the seatback, lift the lever, lean forward and release the lever.

WARNING!

• Adjusting a seat while driving may be dangerous. Moving a seat while driving could result in loss of control which could cause a collision and serious injury or death.
• Seats should be adjusted before fastening the seat belts and while the vehicle is parked. Serious injury or death could result from a poorly adjusted seat belt.
• Do not ride with the seatback reclined so that the shoulder belt is no longer resting against your chest. In a collision, you could slide under the seat belt, which could result in serious injury or death.

CAUTION!
Do not place any article under a power seat or impede its ability to move as it may cause damage to the seat controls. Seat travel may become limited if movement is stopped by an obstruction in the seat’s path.

MANUAL ADJUSTMENT REAR SEATS

WARNING!
Do not place luggage or cargo higher than the top of the seatback. This could impair visibility or become a dangerous projectile in a sudden stop or collision.
The rear seats allow for three passengers.

WARNING!
The centre rear seat provides minimum space and limited occupant use. The centre rear seat has no LATCH child restraint anchorage system and may not be used for LATCH-equipped child car seats. See
page 233 for further information on the LATCH anchorage system.
The centre rear seat has no adjustable headrestraint. No person should sit in the centre rear seat if the top of the seatback is below the top of the person’s ear or if the lap/shoulder belt cannot be worn in the proper position as described. See page 220 for
lap/shoulder operating instructions. Failure to follow this warning could result in serious injury or death in the event of a collision.

Split Folding Rear Seat
The rear seatbacks can be folded forward to provide an additional storage area.
Extending the right side of the trunk allows you to carry two passengers on the left part of the rear seat while extending the left side allows you to carry one passenger.

Center Seatback Section Tilting
The centre seatback can be tilted forward for a “Ski Pass-Through” feature from the trunk. Before tilting the seatback, make sure that the rear centre seat belt is not fastened and that there are not any objects in the middle part of the cushion.
Using the release strap, release the centre part of the seatback from its housing and tilt it using the head restraint.

Center Seatback Section Repositioning
Using the head restraint, lift the centre portion upwards, accompanying it during its movement, and lightly push to make sure that it is properly attached. Make sure that the armrest is properly attached by attempting to move it. If it is not attached, repeat the operation.

To Lower the Rear Seat
Either side of the rear seat can be lowered to allow for extended cargo space and still maintain some rear seating room.

NOTE:
Be sure that the front seats are fully upright and positioned forward. This will allow the rear seatback to fold down easily.

1. Completely lower the rear seat head restraints page 40.
2. Place the seat belt so that it doesn’t impede the movement of the seatback while tilting it.
3. From inside the luggage compartment, operate lever 1 to tilt the left part or lever 2 to tilt the right part of the seatback; it will automatically tilt forward. If necessary, assist the seatback during the initial stage of tilting.

NOTE:
You may experience deformation in the seat cushion from the seat belt buckles if the seats are left folded for an extended period. This is normal and by simply unfolding the seats to the open position, over time the seat cushion will return to its normal shape.

To Raise the Rear Seat
Raise the rear seatback and lock it into place. If interference from the cargo area prevents the seatback from fully locking, you will have difficulty returning the seat to its proper position.

NOTE:
Make sure the seat belts are in the front of the seatback, and that they are not twisted, or trapped behind the seatback.

WARNING!
Be certain that the seatback is securely locked into position. If the seatback is not securely locked into position the seat will not provide the proper stability for child seats and/or passengers. In the event of a collision, an improperly latched seatback could result in serious injury or death.

Center Seatback Lowering
The centre seatback can be folded forward for a “Ski Pass-Through” feature from the trunk. Before lowering the centre seatback, make sure that the rear centre seat belt is not fastened and that there are not any objects in the middle part of the cushion.
Using the release strap, pull upward to release the seatback and lower the centre seatback forward.

Center Seatback Repositioning
Using the head restraint, raise the center seatback, and lightly push to make sure that it is properly locked into place. If the seatback is not locked, repeat the operation.

WARNING!
Be certain that the seatback is securely locked into position. If the seatback is not securely locked into position the seat will not provide the proper stability for child seats and/or passengers. In the event of a collision, an improperly latched seatback could result in serious injury or death.

POWER ADJUSTMENT FRONT SEATS

NOTE:
The seat layout may vary according to the vehicle options.
The power seat switches are located on the outboard side of the seat near the floor. Use these switches to move the driver’s seat up, down, forward, rearward, or to recline the seatback.

Adjusting The Seat Forward Or Rearward
The seat can be adjusted both forward and rearward by using the seat adjustment switch. The seat will move in the direction of the switch. Release the switch when the desired position has been reached.

Adjusting The Seat Up Or Down
The height of the seats can be adjusted up or down. Pull upward or push downward on the seat switch, and the seat will move in the direction of the switch. Release the switch when the desired position is reached.

Tilting The Seat Up Or Down — If Equipped
The seat angle can be adjusted in four directions. Lift or push the front part of the seat switch to move the front part of the seat in the corresponding direction. Release the seat switch when the seat has reached the desired position.

Reclining The Seatback
The angle of the seatback can be adjusted forward or rearward by using the recline switch. The seat will move in the direction of the switch. Release the switch when the desired position is reached.

WARNING!

• Adjusting a seat while driving may be dangerous. Moving a seat while driving could result in loss of control which could cause a collision and serious injury or death.
• Seats should be adjusted before fastening the seat belts and while the vehicle is parked. Serious injury or death could result from a poorly adjusted seat belt.

Power Lumbar
The power lumbar switch is located on the outboard side of the power seat. Push the switch forward or rearward to increase or decrease the lumbar support. Push the switch upward or downward to raise or lower the lumbar support.

Seat Cushion Extension — If Equipped
Lift the adjustment lever and push the front of the cushion forward or rearward to extend the cushion by a few inches (centimetres).

Power Bolster Adjustment — If Equipped
Push the power bolster adjustment buttons to regulate the width of the seatback through the lateral padding.

Easy Entry Function
The Easy Entry function is designed to move the driver-side seat forward automatically by 2.36 inches
(60 mm) to make it easier for the driver to get in and out of the car.
The movement is activated only if the seat is set to a driving position which is in front of the B-pillar of the vehicle.
The function is associated with power driver seats for each of the three stored positions.
The Easy Entry function can be activated/deactivated through the radio system on page 180.

HEATED SEATS —IF EQUIPPED

WARNING!

• Persons who are unable to feel pain in the skin because of advanced age, chronic illness, diabetes, spinal cord injury, medication, alcohol use, exhaustion or other physical conditions must exercise care when using the seat heater. It may cause burns even at low temperatures, especially if used for long periods.
• Do not place anything on the seat or seatback that insulates against heat, such as a blanket or cushion. This may cause the seat heater to overheat. Sitting in a seat that has been overheated could cause serious burns due to the increased surface temperature of the seat.

Front Heated Seats — If Equipped

NOTE:
Quadrifoglio vehicles equipped with Sparco Racing Seats will not be equipped with the heated seat feature.
A press of the heated seat buttons located on the instrument panel, near the climate controls, will select the heat levels in order of highest to lowest. A fourth push of the button will turn the heated seat off.

NOTE:
The heated seat function can also be activated through the radio system page 180.
You can select three heating levels:

• Maximum — three LED indicators illuminated on the buttons
• Medium — two LED indicators illuminated on the buttons
• Minimum — one LED indicator illuminated on the buttons

NOTE:

• After selecting a heating level, heat will be felt within a few minutes.
• The engine must be running for the heated seats to operate.
• The “minimum” setting is automatically deactivated once a certain period has elapsed.

Rear Heated Seats — If Equipped
If equipped with rear heated seats, the controls can be found on the rear of the centre console and will function the same as the front heated seat controls.

NOTE:
To preserve the battery charge, this function cannot be activated when the engine is off.

HEAD RESTRAINTS

Head restraints are designed to reduce the risk of injury by restricting head movement in the event of a rear impact. Head restraints should be adjusted so that the top of the head restraint is located above the top of your ear.

WARNING!

• A loose head restraint thrown forward in a collision or hard stop could cause serious injury or death to occupants of the vehicle. Always securely stow removed head restraints in a location outside the occupant compartment.
• ALL the head restraints MUST be reinstalled in the vehicle to properly protect the occupants. Follow the preceding reinstallation instructions before operating the vehicle or occupying a seat.

Sparco Racing Seat Head Restraints (Quadrifoglio Vehicles) — If Equipped
Head restraints on Sparco Racing Seats (front seats) are non-adjustable and non-removable.
The non-adjustable head restraints consist of a trimmed foam covering over the upper structure of the seatbacks and are intended to help protect you and the passenger from neck injury.
Adjust the seatbacks to their upright, on-road positions so that the head restraint is positioned as close as possible to the back of your head.

Front Head Restraints

WARNING!

• All occupants, including the driver, should not operate a vehicle or sit in a vehicle’s seat until the head restraints are placed in their proper positions to minimize the risk of neck injury in the event of a crash.

WARNING!

• Head restraints should never be adjusted while the vehicle is in motion. Driving a vehicle with head restraints improperly adjusted or removed could cause serious injury or death in the event of a collision.

The front head restraints may be height-adjustable.
To raise the head restraint, pull up the head restraint until it clicks into place.
To lower the head restraint, push the adjustment button and lower the head restraint to the desired height while holding the button. Then, release the adjustment button.

NOTE:
To allow maximum visibility for the driver, if the head restraints are not in use, lower the head restraint all the way.

Rear Head Restraint Adjustment

WARNING!

• All occupants, including the driver, should not operate a vehicle or sit in a vehicle’s seat until the head restraints are placed in their proper positions to minimize the risk of neck injury in the event of a crash.
• Head restraints should never be adjusted while the vehicle is in motion. Driving a vehicle with head restraints improperly adjusted or removed could cause serious injury or death in the event of a collision.

The height of the outboard head restraints can be adjusted. The head restraint of the centre seat can only be removed. The height cannot be adjusted.
For upward adjustment, pull up the head restraint until it clicks into place.
For downward adjustment, push the adjustment button and lower the head restraint while holding the button to the desired height.

NOTE:
To allow maximum visibility for the driver, if the head restraints are not in use, lower the head restraint all the way.

Head Restraint Removal
To remove adjustable head restraints, proceed as follows:

1. Raise the head restraints to their maximum height.
2. Push the adjustment button and the release button at the side of the two supports.
3. Remove the head restraints by pulling them upwards.

To reinstall the head restraints, proceed as follows:

1. Hold down both the adjustment button and release button while placing the head restraint post into the holes.
2. Then, reposition the head restraint to the appropriate height for the passengers.

WARNING!

• A loose head restraint thrown forward in a collision or hard stop could cause serious injury or death to occupants of the vehicle. Always securely stow removed head restraints in a location outside the occupant compartment.
• ALL the head restraints MUST be reinstalled in the vehicle to properly protect the occupants. Follow the preceding reinstallation instructions before operating the vehicle or occupying a seat.
