Fuses are installed in various locations in your vehicle. The following information only lists fuses that you can change yourself. To have other fuses changed, contact an authorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi Service Facility. The following table does not list fuse locations that are not used. A fuse that has blown will have metal strips that have burned through.
The fuses are located in the footwell under the footrest (left-hand drive vehicle) or behind the cover (right-hand drive vehicle). Additional fuses are located on the front side of the cockpit (driver’s side)© and under the left cover in the luggage compartment.
- Switch the ignition and all electrical equipment off.
- Check the table that follows to see which fuse belongs to the affected equipment.
- Remove the screwdriver and the reversible Torx bit from the vehicle tool kit.
- Remove the footrest or the corresponding cover.
- Remove the colored plastic clip from the fuse panel, if necessary.
- Remove the clip from the rear side of the cover-
- Remove the fuse using the clip.
- Replace the blown fuse only with a fuse that has the same amp rating.
- Reinstall the plastic bracket, if present.
- Reattach the footrest or the cover.

Make sure the covers are fitted correctly on the headlight and tail Light so that no water will leak in from the outside and the light function will not be impaired.
FAQs
An electrical circuit is protected from overcurrent by fuses, which also shield the car’s electrical system from harm.
In the 2023 Audi A5, the fuse box is normally found in the interior of the vehicle, close to the dashboard or glove box.
To find out how to access the fuse box specifically, consult your owner’s manual. Typically, in order to access the fuse box, you must open the hood or certain interior panels.
Blade-type fuses, which are classed by their amperage ratings and color coding for simple identification, may be used in the 2023 Audi A5.
Visually check the fuse to verify if the metal filament is still intact. The fuse blows if it is broken or scorched. A multimeter can be used to check the fuse’s continuity as well.
To remove and replace a blown fuse, you often require a fuse puller, which is frequently found in the fuse box.
Consult the owner’s manual or the fuse box cover. Both sources often offer a component list and fuse diagram.
There may be an underlying electrical issue if a fuse continues blowing. Consult a qualified mechanic to identify and resolve the issue.
No, you shouldn’t swap out fuses that have higher amperage ratings than required. It might result in electrical problems or even fires. Use the right amperage fuse at all times.
The amperage rating is indicated by the fuse color. Regardless of color labeling, which can vary, it’s crucial to use the right amperage fuse.
It could be safe to drive a short distance if the blown fuse doesn’t impact important systems, including lighting or safety components. But it’s advisable to swap out the fuse as soon as you can.
When changing a fuse, it’s typically not required to disconnect the battery. Disconnecting the battery, however, can be a safety measure if you’re working on delicate electronic components.
A fuse replacement is frequently a straightforward procedure that the owner can complete. Consult a specialist, though, if you’re unsure or if the issue continues after you replace the fuse.
Consult a licensed mechanic who can discover and fix any underlying electrical problems if you’re unable to determine the source.
To avoid issues with fuses, regularly check your car’s electrical systems, take care while adding aftermarket equipment, and don’t overload circuits.
