The 2023 Chevy Equinox is a capable mainstream small SUV on its own. Numerous infotainment and safety technologies, including several, are available even on the lowest LS level. The Equinox’s unobtrusive exterior style and spacious interior provide plenty of capacity for both people and baggage. It drives more exuberantly than its exterior might suggest. Buyers of new vehicles evidently prefer Equinox’s combination of space, features, and affordability in order to overlook its sluggish performance and unassuming demeanor. Only small adjustments are made to the Chevy Equinox for 2023, including an increase of 5 horsepower for the turbo 1.5-liter, increasing its output to 175 horsepower; torque stays the same at 203 pound-feet of twist. This year, there are three new paint colors out of the eight that are offered, and Chevrolet has switched from a vacuum-boosted brake system to an electronic system they dub “E-boost.” For the standard LS model, Chevy additionally offers Sport and Midnight variants.
