2023 DODGE CHALLENGER Specs, Price, Features, Mileage and Review
The 2023 Dodge Challenger keeps things classic with a kit that’s built more for old-school pony-car jollies and straight-line speed, while competitor muscle cars have recently shifted toward crisp handling. The base engine in these non-SRT Challengers is a V-6, but the naturally aspirated Hemi V-8 engines, which are available in a range of displacements and outputs from a 375-hp, 5.7-litre engine to a 485-hp, 6.4-litre engine, are where the real fun is. Dodge will be happy to oblige if you want even more power with the powerful Challenger SRT Hellcat, which we examine separately. Although the standard Challenger lacks the outlandish Hellcat’s intensity, for some people its V-8 gurgle and generally smooth ride will be enough to bring back memories of the classic Dodge pony cars with which it shares a name. What has changed for 2023?
The Challenger coupe’s career comes to an end this year as Dodge builds a new vehicle that will probably have an electric drivetrain. Dodge will offer well-liked hues from the past of the Challenger, such as Plum Crazy, B5 Blue, and Sublime Green. The 2023 Challenger wears special memorial plaques beneath the hood to indicate the final model year of the current generation. To honor the Hemi V-8 engine that is housed behind the tall, vented hood of the vehicle, all R/T versions receive a new “345” emblem for the front fender. The Shakedown is the name of the first of these seven special versions from Dodge. There will only be 1000 built.
