2023 Toyota GR
Toyota has introduced a six-speed manual transmission to the lineup for the 2023 model year, no doubt motivated by the complaints over the GR Supra’s absence of a manual transmission. The manual will come standard on a new limited edition known as the A91-MT model and will be offered as a free option with the more potent turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six from BMW. Only 500 of the A91-MT will be sold in the United States, and it will only be available in matte white or matte grey paint with a brown-and-black two-tone interior. The suspension and steering systems have been returned, and a new driving mode called Hairpin+ has been included. Hairpin+ allows for greater wheelspin on one of the rear tires to aid in rotating the GR Supra around incredibly tight hairpin turns. The 2023 GR Supra, Toyota’s pinnacle sports vehicle, makes up for the brand’s more subdued sedans, hatchbacks, and SUVs with enough thrills, panache, and drama.
