2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee
A multifunctional SUV at the nexus of machismo and beauty is the 2023 Grand Cherokee. The midrange and high-end trims are stuffed with luxury features and posh materials that clearly position the Grand as a player in the upmarket segment, while the base model Grand continues to deliver a package that is entirely mainstream—that is, not particularly fancy. The Grand Cherokee maintains its trail-busting off-road ability despite its upward mobility—after all, it is a Jeep. There are two available powertrains: a V-6 and the 4xe plug-in hybrid system. A two-row SUV is the Grand Cherokee. It gives lots of space for people and freight inside its spacious cabin and is equally content with suburban family life as it is hiking through the wilderness. However, the three-row Grand Cherokee L (reviewed separately) might be more accommodating if your family has more than a few children.
Jeep is a well-known American automaker distinguished for its tough and capable off-road vehicles. The business has a long history that extends back to World War II, and it has come to represent exploration, independence, and adventure. Jeep’s beginnings can be found in the 1940s when the American military was looking for a new, lightweight reconnaissance vehicle to employ in World War II. For the needs of the military, Willys-Overland, American Bantam Car Company, and Ford Motor Company submitted prototypes in 1941. Willys-Overland’s design, known as the Willys MB, was chosen and eventually became the first Jeep. Military Jeeps that were left over from the war were made available to the general population and quickly became well-liked for their toughness and off-road ability. The CJ-2A, the first civilian Jeep produced by Willys-Overland, debuted in 1945, ushering the Jeep’s entry into the consumer market. Jeep has experienced numerous ownership changes over the years. In 1953, Kaiser Motors bought Willys-Overland; a year later, in 1970, American Motors Corporation (AMC) bought the Jeep nameplate. Since 1987, when Chrysler Corporation acquired AMC, Jeep has been a part of Chrysler (which, with its merger with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, is now known as Stellantis).
