The Lexus ES mid-size luxury automobile stands out in comfort and has a far lower starting price than purported competitors like the Audi A6 and Mercedes-Benz E-class. This is due to a Toyota Camry that is hidden below with a more streamlined exterior and upmarket interior. Even though we weren’t happy with its performance and driving habits, we referred to it as a “rolling Xanax pill” in our tests because of how well it protects the driver and passengers from loud noises like the sound of the road and other traffic. The ES has one of the most lavish cabins in its class, a smooth and quiet powertrain, and an exceptionally relaxing ride. It’s not a car for aficionados, to put it simply. However, the 300h hybrid model managed to get 45 mpg while moving at 75 mph, giving it a respectable choice for individuals who wish to save money on gas.
What is different for 2023?
For the 2023 model year, Lexus is releasing a new F Sport Handling package for the ES350 and ES300h vehicles in addition to a few additional interior items. Comparable to the F Sport Handling option is the Dynamic Handling package, which debuted last year and was exclusively offered on ES350 F Sport vehicles. It sports a heated steering wheel with the F Sport emblem, a suspension that is adjustable with Sport+, and special drive modes. A panoramic roof is now an option for buyers of the F Sport Design package. Interior upgrades for the ES include new Ash Bamboo trim, light-brown Macadamia upholstery, and a reworked centre console design with a sunglasses holder, a new location for the cup holder, and a new location for the wireless charging pad. The Lexus Interface infotainment system is now standard on the ES, and it adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Drive Connect Capability with Cloud Navigation, Hey Lexus intelligent assist software, and the paid Destination Assist service.
