The 911 is the first thing that enters our minds. This fastback with a rear engine is well-known for a reason. To be precise, several. It produced competitors like the Aston Martin Vantage, Audi R8, and Maserati MC20, to mention a few, for many years, setting the standard for performance, handling, and feel. The twin-turbo flat-six engines in the “standard” 911 retain true to their heritage and can be tweaked to produce up to 473 horsepower. What has changed for 2023?
Porsche has added an off-road-oriented Dakar version of the 911 with knobby tires, a higher suspension, and the same engine as the Carrera 4 GTS to commemorate the company’s 70th year of selling automobiles in North America. There will be only 2500 units produced, with pricing beginning at $223,450. The 911 collection now offers a top-of-the-line America Edition GTS cabriolet. These cars include a seven-speed manual transmission, Azure Blue 356 exterior paint, tri-finish wheels (with white, silver, and red detailing), and special bodyside decals. Only 100 of these cars will be sold in the United States, with 15 more going to Canada.
