A FRIENDLY CHASSIS 
If it weren’t Indian-made, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is an unabashedly conventional motorbike that I would compare to vintage Universal Japanese Motorcycles. The design is practical and useful. That is not to say that attractive bodywork cannot be supported by the dual down tube spine structure built by Harris Performance. It does, and the Hunter’s allure stems in part from that.

THE BRAKE AND SUSPENSIONS
Save for one significant exception, suspension and brakes were inexpensive components. The suspension is very basic, with the non-adjustable 41mm conventional fork up front and the preload-adjustable dual shocks at the back, but then again, the Hunter’s job description doesn’t call for much either. The main objective of these bikes is bump absorption rather than chassis control on the city streets where they will be used most of the time, and the Hunter performs admirably in this regard. A furious drive down a twisty route, however, will quickly draw attention to the suspenders’ limitations.

APPEALING STYLE AND COST
Royal Enfield showcased the Hunter 350 as a motorcycle suitable for the Gen Z crowd, complete with hip young riders enjoying themselves while cruising through different cities on their Hunters. Thanks to social media, the younger generation is aware of style, and the designers of the Hunter 350 put a lot of it on the platform. The Hunter exudes approachability in everything from the classic round headlight to the solitary instrument to the contoured bench seat to the stubby exhaust. The six colour choices can then be added for even more attractiveness.
