2024 Chevrolet Blazer Review, Specs, Price and Mileage (Brochure)

The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer finds itself in an intriguing mid-size SUV sector that is in the centre of everything. In addition to having an aggressive and sporting appearance and responsive handling to match, it also boasts a roomy cabin with two rows of seats and a sizable cargo compartment. Although the Blazer’s highest trim levels can grow very expensive, the interior materials aren’t up to par, but there are plenty of extra features. The base engine is a four-cylinder turbocharged unit with front-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive as optional. The optional V-6 engine has a nice sound and is rather powerful. Nevertheless, the Blazer falls short of being the Camaro of SUVs, and its unique personality doesn’t fully compensate for its lack of sophistication when compared to competitors like the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Honda Passport.

Engine

A 228-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is standard on the Blazer, but a 308-hp 3.6-liter V-6 engine is available as an option. Both come equipped with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The turbo-four, front-drive model offers enough power for both city and highway driving. On the other hand, the V-6 accelerates quickly and gives you more assurance when passing on the freeway. When a driver needs to merge onto a crowded highway or pass slower-moving traffic, the latest Blazer RS we tested pleased with its short passing manoeuvre times. It reached 60 mph in 6.6 seconds. While the V-6 model can tow up to 4500 pounds, the four-cylinder model can only tow up to 1500 pounds. The Chevrolet bow tie-wearing crossover that drives the best is the Blazer, thanks to its precise steering and calm demeanor under pressure. With its unique suspension and steering setup, the RS variant in particular is exceptionally quick and confident on winding roads. Nevertheless, driving the Blazer isn’t as enjoyable as its looks would imply. Compared to the RS model, which rides on massive 21-inch wheels and thuds over uneven terrain, the normal 18-inch wheel and tire combination offers a quieter and more comfortable ride. Fortunately, both models stay silent at highway speeds and on level terrain. Our Blazer RS test car’s solid brake pedal responded to our inputs right away, and it took an amazing 165 feet for the brakes to stop it from 70 mph.

Interior

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The Chevy Camaro served as a major design influence for the Blazer’s interior, which has an easy-to-use climate control system with circular air vents beneath the center stack. The temperature can be changed by twisting these vents. Two-tone color scheme and soft-touch plastics are among the visual accents. The more expensive models come with flashier materials and leather surfaces, while the mid-range trims are primarily grayscale in color and feature an excessive number of inferior trim pieces. Desirable features like heated and ventilated front seats, ambient interior lighting, and heated rear seats are available in the Blazer. Our test vehicle’s rear seat featured lots of room for stretching out, which should be comfortable for everyone on long rides, but the front seats had tiny cushions that provided little support. We were able to fit 11 and 26 carry-on suitcases, respectively, with the cargo capacity of 31 cubic feet behind the back seats and 64 with the seats folding. For tiny objects, there are many storage options available, such as smartphone-friendly ledges on the front door panels. In addition, the center console has a sizable cubby at its front, and a roomy bin that lacks organization. With modest door pockets and a container behind the center console, the back seat is less impressive.

Every Blazer has a 10.2-inch touchscreen that can be used for wireless charging of compatible phones as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Although the system’s UI is user-friendly and appealing, distractions might be minimized with the addition of a rotary controller. Fuel Efficiency

With the regular turbo four, the Blazer can get up to 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the interstate. Up to 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway are estimated for the slightly thirstier V-6 version. The all-wheel-drive, V-6 Blazer achieved 24 mpg in our real-world test, but we haven’t tested the four-cylinder version on our 75 mph highway fuel-economy route, which is part of our rigorous testing process.
