The goal of the 2024 Genesis G80 is gentle luxury, and boy, does it succeed. The large sedan appears more like a low-cost Bentley than a competitor to the Audi A6, BMW 5-series, and Mercedes-Benz E-class thanks to its refined interior and well-controlled ride. The cherry on top is its affordable price and stylish design. Although a 300-hp turbo-four powers entry-level models, a twin-turbo 375-hp V-6 that offers smoother running is also an option. The G80’s name becomes “Sport” when you order the V-6, but even these models fall short of the standards for sports sedans in our opinion. If you’re looking for something more thrilling, one of Genesis’s rivals might be a better option.
What Is 2024 Bringing?
Except for all-wheel drive becoming standard on all models and the addition of a 3.5T Sport Advanced trim to serve as a step between the 3.5T Sport and the loaded 3.5T Sport Prestige, the G80 remains largely the same for 2024. In other news, standard features include a Wi-Fi hotspot and adaptive cruise control with lane-centering. The 2.5T Advanced seems to offer the best value out of all the trim levels; it comes with several premium features that more than make up for the price premium over the base model. 19-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, three-zone automatic climate control, a power trunk lid, and a 21-speaker Lexicon audio system are standard on the Advance trim.
