2024 Volkswagen Atlas Specs, Price, Features, Mileage and Review
Three-row SUVs like the Volkswagen Atlas provide families of all sizes with the space, convenience, and towing capacity they want because they do not have the cumbersome power-sliding doors of a minivan. Due to its spacious third row, the seven-passenger Atlas is a relaxing way to carry guests. The roomy cabin of this vehicle transforms into a useful tool for moving things when the second and third rows of seats are folded. Power is provided by a 269-hp inline-four turbocharged engine coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is the standard, however, all-wheel drive is an option. The Atlas, which competes against more upmarket rivals like the Kia Telluride, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, and Mazda CX-90, becomes better with each improvement Volkswagen provides. Even an Atlas Cross Sport, which is looked at separately, transforms the SUV while giving up a third row of seating.
What is different for 2024?
For 2024, Volkswagen gives the Atlas a stylish facelift and adds a ton of additional standard amenities. The most obvious change is the Atlas’ new design, which includes a modernized front fascia and new headlights. New wheel designs are present across the entire series, including 21-inch wheels for the R-Line models. Volkswagen no longer offers a 276 horsepower V-6 engine for the Atlas; instead, a 269 horsepower turbocharged inline-four engine is the only option. Despite the different engines, front-wheel drive and an eight-speed transmission are still necessary, and the maximum towing capability is still 5,000 pounds. The option of all-wheel drive is still available. In the cockpit of the upgraded Atlas, there is a huge plastic basket full of brand-new, more expensive ornamentation. Volkswagen further increases the list of standard features for 2024 by including heated steering wheels and ventilated front seats. A 12.0-inch infotainment screen has been installed in place of the previous 8.0-inch one, which is a major upgrade. Volkswagen has also added the Atlas Peak Edition look package, which has a more rugged and natural appearance with unique Avocado Green and Pure Gray paint hues.
