Instrument Cluster: 2013 Cadillac XTS Dashboard Setting Guide

The 2013 Cadillac XTS has an instrument cluster that can be rearranged. This is called the Driver Information Center (DIC), and it shows different types of information about the car and lets the driver interact with menus and features for audio, phone, and navigation apps. The DIC is a 5.7-inch electroluminescent gauge cluster with three windows. It can be set up to show a lot of the same information that is shown on a setter radio display screen in the middle window of the DIC. The five-way controller on the steering wheel lets the driver move between windows and choose to see different types of information and tasks in the center display window. The left and right DIC windows show information about the vehicle’s state, and the centre window lets the driver use audio, phone, and navigation apps by navigating through menus and choices.

Notice: If the engine is operated with the tachometer in the shaded warning area, the vehicle could be damaged, and the damages would not be covered by the vehicle warranty. Do not operate the engine with the tachometer in the shaded warning area.

Fuel Gauge

Instrument Cluster-2013 Cadillac XTS Dashboard Setting Guide-base level Instrument Cluster-2013 Cadillac XTS Dashboard Setting Guide-Uplevel Balanced Configuration, Instrument Cluster-2013 Cadillac XTS Dashboard Setting Guide-Uplevel SIMPLE AND ENHANCED Configuration,

When the ignition is on, the fuel gauge indicates about how much fuel is left in the tank. There is an arrow near the fuel gauge pointing to the side of the vehicle the fuel door is on. When the indicator is empty, the low fuel light comes on. There still is a little fuel left, but the vehicle should be refueled soon.

Here are four things that some owners ask about. None of these show a problem with the fuel gauge:

  • At the service station, the fuel pump shuts off before the gauge reads full.
  • It takes a little more or less fuel to fill up than the gauge indicated. For example, the gauge may have indicated the tank was half full, but it took a little more or less than half the tank’s capacity to fill the tank.
  • The gauge moves a little while turning a corner or speeding up.
  • The gauge takes a few seconds to stabilize after the ignition is turned on, and goes back to empty when the ignition is turned off.

Engine Coolant Temperature Gauge

Instrument Cluster-2013 Cadillac XTS Dashboard Setting Guide-MATRIC BASE LEVEL Instrument Cluster-2013 Cadillac XTS Dashboard Setting Guide-Engine Coolant TEMPERATURE

This gauge measures the temperature of the vehicle’s engine. While driving under normal operating conditions, if the needle moves into the shaded area, the engine is too hot. Pull off the road, stop the vehicle, and turn off the engine as soon as possible.
