Yes, most smart keys have a panic button that, in an emergency, activates the car’s horn and lights as a distress signal.

Can I share my smart key with someone else temporarily, like a valet or a friend?

Many smart key systems allow you to provide others temporary access. This option is useful if you want to lend your automobile to someone but don’t want them to have full access to your key. For more information, consult your owner’s handbook.

Do I need to replace the smart key’s battery, and how often?

Yes, the smart key’s battery is normally changeable. The frequency of replacement is determined by usage, however it is recommended that you change it every couple of years or when you detect a decline in range or functionality.

Is there a way to disable the smart key feature temporarily?

For security concerns, some automobiles allow you to disable the smart key capability. For instructions on how to accomplish this, consult your owner’s handbook.

What should I do if my smart key is not working correctly?

If your smart key isn’t operating properly, try replacing the battery first. If the problem persists, consult your owner’s manual for troubleshooting methods or contact your local Chevrolet dealership.
