GENERAL INFORMATION
Fuses protect the electrical system: they intervene (blow) in the event of a failure or improper action on the
system.
Check the state of the corresponding fuse when a device does not work: the filament (A) fig. 154 should be intact.
If it is not, replace the blown fuse with another with the same ampere rating (same colour).
- (B) = intact fuse;
- (C) = fuse with damaged filament.
To facilitate fuse replacement, use the tongs (D) hooked inside the fusebox lid on the dashboard left-hand side.
Refer to the tables on the following pages to identify the protective fuse.
The LPG system and the methane system components are protected by specific fuses.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT FUSEBOX
The fusebox is located next to the conventional battery: to access the fuses, undo screw (A) fig. 155 and lift cover (B) upwards.
The number identifying the electrical component corresponding to each fuse is on the cover fig. 156. After replacing the fuse, make sure you close cover (B) on the junction unit.
DASHBOARD FUSEBOX
The fuse box fig. 157 is located near the left side of the steering column and the fuses can be accessed easily from the lower part of the dashboard.
WARNING
- If the replaced fuse blows again, contact a Fiat Dealership.
- Never replace a faulty fuse with metal wires or anything else.
- Never replace a fuse with another with a higher amp rating; RISK OF FIRE.
- If a general fuse (MEGA-FUSE, MIDIFUSE,
MAXI-FUSE) blows contact a Fiat Dealership. - Before replacing a fuse, make sure the ignition key has been removed that all the other services are switched off and/or disengaged.
- Contact Fiat Dealership if a safety system (airbags, brakes), engine system (engine, gearbox) or steering system general protection fuse blows.
- For fuse replacement, contact a Fiat Dealership.
IMPORTANT
- If you need to wash the engine compartment, take care not to directly hit the fuse box and the window wiper motors with the water jet.
