2017 Hyundai Azera Repair Fuses | Relay and Fuse Diagrams

The 2017 Hyundai Azera’s fuse box is an important part of keeping the car’s electrical parts safe. To keep circuits safe from overloads or short circuits, fuses stop the flow of electricity when these problems happen. These fuses, each one designed for a different electrical system, are kept in the fuse box, which is usually placed in an easy-to-reach place inside the car. Knowing the fuse box diagram is important for figuring out which fuse goes with which part, which makes fixing and repair go more smoothly. For the Azera to keep running at its best, you need to know which fuse to check or change for the headlights, stereo system, power windows, or other electrical functions. Checking for and replacing blown fuses regularly keeps the car’s electrical systems running easily and safely, lowering the risk of damage.

A vehicle’s electrical system is protected from electrical overload damage by fuses. This vehicle has 2 fuse panels, one located in the driver’s side panel bolster, and another in the engine compartment.
If any of your vehicle’s lights, accessories, or controls do not work, check the appropriate circuit fuse. If a fuse has blown, the element inside the fuse will be melted. If the electrical system does not work, first check the driver’s side fuse panel. Before replacing a blown fuse, disconnect the negative battery cable. Always replace a blown fuse with one of the same rating. If the replacement fuse blows, this indicates an electrical problem. Avoid using the system involved and immediately consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Three kinds of fuses are used: blade type for lower amperage rating, cartridge type, and multi-fuse type for higher amperage rating.

WARNING – Fuse replacement

  • Never replace a fuse with anything but another fuse of the same rating.
  • A higher capacity fuse could cause damage and possibly a fire.
  • Never install a wire or aluminum foil instead of the proper fuse – even as a temporary repair. It may cause extensive wiring damage and a possible fire.

CAUTION – Fuse replacement
Do not use a screwdriver or any other metal object to remove fuses because it may cause a short circuit and damage the system.

CAUTION

  • When replacing a blown fuse or relay with a new one, make sure the new fuse or relay fits tightly into the clips The incomplete fastening fuse or relay may cause the vehicle wiring and electric systems damage and a possible fire.
  • Do not remove fuses, relays, and terminals fastened with bolts or nuts. The fuses, relays, and terminals may be fastened incompletely, and it may cause a possible fire. If fuses, relays, and terminals fastened with bolts or nuts are blown, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
  • Do not input any other objects except fuses or relays into fuse/relay terminals such as a driver or wiring. It may cause contact failure and system malfunction.

Instrument panel fuse replacement

  1. Turn the ignition switch and all other switches off.
  2. Open the fuse panel cover.2017 Hyundai Azera-Fuses and Fuse-fig 3
  3. Pull the suspected fuse straight out. Use the removal tool provided in the engine compartment fuse panel.
  4. Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown.
  5. Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly in the clips.

If it fits loosely, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
If you do not have a spare, use a fuse of the same rating from a circuit you may not need for operating the vehicle, such as the power outlet fuse.
If the headlights or other electrical components do not work and the fuses are OK, check the fuse panel in the engine compartment. If a fuse is blown, it must be replaced.

Fuse switch
Always, put the fuse switch at the ON position. A notice will appear on the LCD to notify the driver the fuse switch should be in the ON position. For more details, refer to “LCD” in section 4.
If you move the switch to the OFF position, some items such as the audio and digital clock must be reset, and or the smart key may not work properly.

CAUTION

  • Always place the fuse switch in the ON position while driving the vehicle.
  • Do not operate the fuse switch repeatedly. The switch may be worn out.

  1. Turn the ignition switch and all other switches off.
  2. Remove the fuse panel cover by pressing the tab and pulling it up.
  3. Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown. To remove or insert the fuse, use the fuse puller in the engine compartment fuse panel.
  4. Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly in the clips.
If it fits loosely, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

CAUTION – Fuse panel covers
After checking the fuse panel in the engine compartment, securely install the fuse panel cover to prevent electrical failures that may occur from water contact.

FAQs

What is the purpose of fuses in a 2017 Hyundai Azera?

Fuses protect electrical circuits from overloading by breaking the circuit if there’s too much current flow.

Where is the fuse box located in the 2017 Hyundai Azera?

The fuse box in a 2017 Hyundai Azera is typically located in the engine compartment or inside the vehicle, usually under the dashboard on the driver’s side.

How can I identify a blown fuse in my 2017 Hyundai Azera?

You can visually inspect the fuse for a broken wire inside, or use a multimeter to check for continuity.

What tools do I need in a 2017 Hyundai Azera to replace a fuse?

Typically, you’ll need a fuse puller or a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the blown fuse and a replacement fuse of the correct amperage.

What happens if I replace a blown fuse in a 2017 Hyundai Azera with one of a higher amperage?

Replacing a blown fuse with one of a higher amperage can lead to electrical damage or even fire, as it allows more current to flow through the circuit than it’s designed for.

How do I find the correct amperage rating for a replacement fuse in a 2017 Hyundai Azera?

The correct amperage rating for a replacement fuse is usually indicated on the fuse box cover or in the owner’s manual.

Can I use any type of fuse to replace a blown one in my 2017 Hyundai Azera?

No, it’s important to use the same type and amperage rating of the fuse as the one you’re replacing to ensure proper functioning and safety.

What are some common reasons in a 2017 Hyundai Azera for blown fuses?

Common reasons for blown fuses include electrical shorts, overloading the circuit, or faulty components.

How can I prevent blowing fuses in my 2017 Hyundai Azera?

Avoid overloading electrical circuits, use the correct amperage-rated fuses, and promptly address any electrical issues to prevent blowing fuses.

Can I repair a blown fuse in my 2017 Hyundai Azera, or do I need to replace it?

Fuses are designed to be replaced rather than repaired. Once blown, they need to be replaced with a new fuse of the appropriate rating.

Are there any specific precautions I should take in my 2017 Hyundai Azera when replacing fuses?

Before replacing fuses, it’s important to disconnect the vehicle’s battery to prevent accidental short circuits.

In 2017 Hyundai Azera how do I access the fuse box?

Refer to the owner’s manual for specific instructions on accessing the fuse box in your vehicle. It’s typically located either in the engine compartment or under the dashboard.

Can I drive my 2017 Hyundai Azera with a blown fuse?

It depends on which circuit the blown fuse is protecting. If it’s a critical system like the headlights or brake lights, it’s not safe to drive until the fuse is replaced.

Are there any recalls or common issues in the 2017 Hyundai Azera related to fuses?

Check with your local Hyundai dealership or visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website to see if there are any recalls related to fuses in your specific model year.

Where can I find a fuse box diagram for my 2017 Hyundai Azera?

Fuse box diagrams are typically found in the owner’s manual or on the inside of the fuse box cover. If you don’t have access to either, you can often find them online or by contacting a Hyundai dealership.
