2019 Hyundai Kona Fuses and Fuse Box | Fuse Diagram User Manual

If you look closely at the 2019 Hyundai Kona’s complicated electrical system, you’ll see how important its fuses and fuse box are for protecting all of the car’s electrical parts. The fuse box is ideally placed inside the car and acts as a nerve center, carefully organizing a variety of fuses that protect against possible electrical problems. It’s hard to tell what these small but important parts are, but they protect important systems like lights, power windows, and electronic modules from damage that could come from electrical spikes or problems. The fuse box was made to be easy to get to, so repair can be done quickly and easily. This makes troubleshooting easier for both drivers and technicians. The 2019 Hyundai Kona’s fuses and fuse box are like silent guards, showing that the car is serious about electrical safety and reliability. This shows how important these often-overlooked parts are for keeping the driving experience smooth and safe. 2023 Hyundai KONA Specs, Price, Features, Milage (Brochure)

FUSES

2019-Hyundai-Kona-Fuses-and-Fuse-Box-Replacing-a-blown-fuse-fig-1 A vehicle’s electrical system is protected from electrical overload damage by fuses. This vehicle has 2 (or 3) fuse panels, one located in the driver’s side panel bolster, the other in the engine compartment near the battery. If any of your vehicle’s lights, accessories, or controls do not work, check the appropriate circuit fuse. If a fuse has blown, the element inside the fuse will be melted or broken. If the electrical system does not work, first check the driver’s side fuse panel. Before replacing a blown fuse, turn the engine and all switches off, and then disconnect the negative battery cable. Always replace a blown fuse with one of the same rating. If the replacement fuse blows, this indicates an electrical problem. Avoid using the system involved and immediately consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. WARNING NEVER replace a fuse with anything but another fuse of the same rating.
  • A higher capacity fuse could cause damage and possibly cause a fire.
  • Do not install a wire or aluminium foil instead of the proper fuse – even as a temporary repair. It may cause extensive wiring damage and possibly a fire.
NOTICE Do not use a screwdriver or any other metal object to remove fuses because it may cause a short circuit and damage the system.

Instrument Panel Fuse Replacement

2019-Hyundai-Kona-Fuses-and-Fuse-Box-Replacing-a-blown-fuse-fig-2
  1. Turn the engine off.
  2. Turn all other switches OFF.
  3. Open the fuse panel cover.
  4. Refer to the label on the inside of the fuse panel cover to locate the suspected fuse location.2019-Hyundai-Kona-Fuses-and-Fuse-Box-Replacing-a-blown-fuse-fig-3
  5. Pull the suspected fuse straight out. Use the removal tool provided in the engine compartment fuse panel.
  6. Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown. Spare fuses are provided in the instrument panel fuse panels (or in the engine compartment fuse panel).
  7. Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly in the clips. If it fits loosely, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
In an emergency, if you do not have a spare fuse, use a fuse of the same rating from a circuit you may not need for operating the vehicle. If the headlamps or other electrical components do not work and the fuses are undamaged, check the fuse panel in the engine compartment. If a fuse is blown, it must be replaced with the same rating. Fuse switch 2019-Hyundai-Kona-Fuses-and-Fuse-Box-Replacing-a-blown-fuse-fig-4
  • Always, place the fuse switch to the ON position.
  • If you move the switch to the OFF position, some items such as the audio system and digital clock must be reset and the smart key may not work properly.
Information 2019-Hyundai-Kona-Fuses-and-Fuse-Box-Replacing-a-blown-fuse-fig-5
  • If the fuse switch is OFF, the above message will appear.
NOTICE
  • Always place the fuse switch in the ON position while driving the vehicle.
  • Do not move the fuse switch repeatedly. The fuse switch may be damaged.

FAQs

What is the purpose of the fuse box in the 2019 Hyundai Kona?

The fuse box houses electrical fuses that protect individual circuits in the vehicle’s electrical system from overloads, ensuring safety and preventing electrical damage.

How do I identify a blown fuse in my 2019 Hyundai Kona?

A blown fuse can usually be identified by visually inspecting it. Look for a broken or melted filament inside the fuse. Additionally, some vehicles have a fuse indicator light on the dashboard that may illuminate when a fuse is blown.

Where is the fuse box located in the 2019 Hyundai Kona?

The fuse box’s location may vary depending on the vehicle’s trim level, but it is typically found under the dashboard on the driver’s side or in the engine compartment.

What do the different fuse amperage ratings signify?

Fuse amperage ratings indicate the maximum current that the fuse can handle before it blows to protect the circuit. Different electrical components in the vehicle require fuses with specific amperage ratings.

How do I safely remove a blown fuse from the fuse box?

To remove a blown fuse, use a fuse puller tool or a pair of needle-nose pliers. Grip the fuse near its base and pull it straight out.

Can I replace a blown fuse with one of a higher amperage rating?

No, it is not safe to replace a blown fuse with one of a higher amperage rating. Doing so can lead to electrical problems, damage to the vehicle’s wiring, or fires. Always use the correct amperage-rated fuse.

What should I do if I replace a fuse, and the electrical problem remains unresolved?

If the issue persists after replacing the fuse, it may indicate an underlying electrical problem that requires professional diagnosis and repair. Consult a Hyundai service center or a qualified technician for assistance.

Are there spare fuses provided in the 2019 Hyundai Kona for emergencies?

Some vehicles may come with spare fuses. It’s a good practice to carry spare fuses of various amperage ratings in your vehicle’s glove compartment for emergencies.

Can I reset the maintenance or service reminder using the fuse box?

The maintenance or service reminder is typically not reset using the fuse box.

Is it necessary to disconnect the vehicle’s battery before replacing a fuse?

It is generally not necessary to disconnect the battery when replacing a fuse. However, it’s essential to ensure the ignition is turned off and the key is removed.
