Instrument Cluster Control

When the vehicle’s parking lights or headlights are on, press the illumination control button to adjust the brightness of the instrument panel illumination. When pressing the illumination control button, the interior switch illumination intensity is also adjusted. The selected brightness of illumination can be saved in the Driver Position Memory System (if equipped).   • The brightness of the instrument panel illumination is displayed.
  • If the brightness reaches the maximum or minimum level, an alarm will sound.

LCD Display Control

Gauges

The speedometer indicates the speed of the vehicle and is calibrated in miles per hour (mph) and/or kilometers per hour (km/h).

The tachometer indicates the approximate number of engine revolutions per minute (rpm).
Use the tachometer to select the correct shift points and to prevent lugging and/or over-revving the engine.

NOTICE
Do not operate the engine within the tachometer’s RED ZONE. This may cause severe engine damage.

This gauge indicates the temperature of the engine coolant when the ignition switch or Engine Start/Stop button is ON.

NOTICE
If the gauge pointer moves beyond the normal range area toward the “H” position, it indicates overheating that may damage the engine.
Do not continue driving with an overheated engine. If your vehicle overheats, refer to “If the Engine Overheats” in Chapter 6.

WARNING
Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. The engine coolant is under pressure and could severely burn. Wait until the engine is cool before adding coolant to the reservoir.

This gauge indicates the approximate amount of fuel remaining in the fuel tank.

Information

  • The fuel tank capacity is given in chapter 8.
  • The fuel gauge is supplemented by a low fuel warning light, which will illuminate when the fuel tank is nearly empty.
  • On inclines or curves, the fuel gauge pointer may fluctuate or the low fuel warning light may come on earlier than usual due to the movement of fuel in the tank.

WARNING
Running out of fuel can expose vehicle occupants to danger. You must stop and obtain additional fuel as soon as possible after the warning light comes on or when the gauge indicator comes close to the “E (Empty)” level.

NOTICE
Avoid driving with an extremely low fuel level. Running out of fuel could cause the engine to misfire, damaging the catalytic converter.

The odometer indicates the total distance that the vehicle has been driven and should be used to determine when periodic maintenance should be performed.

  • Odometer range : 0 ~ 999999 miles or kilometers.

This gauge indicates the current outside air temperatures by 1°F (1°C).

  • Temperature range : -40°F ~ 140°F (-40°C ~ 60°C)

The outside temperature on the display may not change immediately like a general thermometer to prevent the driver from being inattentive.
To change the temperature unit from°F to °C or °C to °F, it can be selected by one of the following methods :

  • Go to User Settings Mode ➝ Other Features ➝ Temperature Unit.
  • Press the AUTO button for 3 seconds while pressing the OFF button. (Automatic climate control system)

Both the temperature unit on the cluster LCD and climate control screen will change.

This warning light is to warn the driver the road may be icy.
When the following conditions occur, the warning light (including the Outside Temperature Gauge) blinks 5 times and then illuminates, and also warn-ing chime sounds 1 times.

  • The temperature on the Outside Temperature Gauge is below approximately 40°F (4°C).

Information
If the icy road warning light appears while driving, you should drive more attentively and safely refraining from over-speeding, rapid acceleration, sudden braking or sharp turning, etc.

For safety, change the User Settings after parking the vehicle and move the shift lever to the P (Park) position.

Service in
If the remaining mileage or time reaches 900 miles (1,500 km) or 30 days, the “Service in” message is displayed for several seconds each time you set the ignition switch or Engine Start/Stop button to the ON position. Service required
If you exceed the specified service interval, the “Service required” message will be displayed each time you set the ignition switch or Engine Start/Stop button to the ON position. Service in OFF
If the service interval is not set, the “Service in OFF” message is displayed.

Information

If any of the following conditions occur, the mileage and days may be incorrect.

  • The battery cable is disconnected.
  • The fuse switch is turned off.
  • The battery is discharged.

Warning Message
If one of the following occurs, warning messages will be displayed in the information mode for several seconds.

  • Malfunction of the below systems
    • Smart Cruise Control (SCC)
    • Blind Spot Detection (BSD)
    • Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
    • Automatic Emergency Braking system (AEB)
  • High Beam Assist system (HBA)

User Settings Mode

In this mode, you can change the settings of the instrument cluster, doors, lamps, and so on.

Driving Assist

Items Explanation

SCC (Smart Cruise Control)

Adjust the sensitivity of Smart Cruise Control (SCC) in 3 stages.

– Slow / Normal / Fast

For more information, refer to “Smart Cruise Control (SCC)” in chapter 5.

AEB (Autonomous Emergency Braking, if equipped) To activate or deactivate the AEB system.

For more information, refer to “Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)” in chapter 5.

FCW (Forward Collision Warning, if equipped)

To adjust the initial warning alert time for the Forward Collision Warning / Autonomous Emergency Braking system. The option settings are Slow, Normal, or Fast.

RCTA (Rear Cross Traffic Alert)

To activate or deactivate the RCTA system.

Door

Items Explanation

Auto Lock

  • Off: The auto door lock operation will be deactivated.
  • Enable on Speed: All doors will be automatically locked when the vehicle speed exceeds 9.3mph (15km/h).
  • Enable on Shift: All doors will be automatically locked if the automatic transmission shift lever is shifted from the P (Park) position to the R (Reverse), N (Neutral), or D (Drive) position.

Auto Unlock

  • Off: The auto door unlock operation will be canceled.
  • Vehicle Off: All doors will be automatically unlocked when the ignition key is removed from the ignition switch or the Engine Start/Stop button is set to the OFF position.
  • On Shift to P: All doors will be automatically unlocked if the automatic transmission shift lever is shifted to the P (Park) position.

Two Press Unlock

  • OFF: The two-press unlock function will be deactivated. Therefore, all doors will unlock if the door is unlocked.
  • ON: The driver’s door will unlock if the door is unlocked. When the door is unlocked again within 4 seconds, all doors will unlock.
Door Lock Sound To activate or deactivate the lock sound when locking doors.
Smart Trunk (Smart key) To activate or deactivate the Smart Trunk system.

Lights

One Touch Turn Signal

  • Off: The one-touch turn signal function will be deactivated.
  • 3, 5, 7 Flashes: The lane change signals will blink 3, 5, or 7 times when the turn signal lever is moved slightly.

Head Lamp Delay

  • On: The headlamp delay function will be activated.
  • Off: The headlamp delay function will be deactivated.

Welcome Light

  • On: The welcome light function will be activated.
  • Off: The welcome light function will be deactivated.

Sound

  • Adjust the Park Assist System volume. (Level 1~3)
BSD (Blind Spot Detection) Sound
  • Off: The BSD sound function will be deactivated.
  • On: The BSD sound function will be activated.


Seat/Steering

Seat Easy Access

  • Note: The seat easy access function will be deactivated.
  • Normal/Extended:
  • When you turn off the engine, the driver’s seat will automatically move rearward short (Normal) or long (Extended) for you to enter or exit the vehicle more comfortably.
  • If you change the Engine Start/Stop button from the OFF position to the ACC, ON, or START position, the driver’s seat will return to its original position.

Service Interval

In this mode, you can activate the service interval function with mileage (km or mi.) and period (months).
  • Off: The service interval function will be deactivated.
  • On: You can set the service interval (mileage and months).

Fuel Economy Auto Reset

  • Off: The average fuel economy will not reset automatically whenever refueling.
  • After Ignition: The average fuel economy will reset automatically when driving.
  • After Refueling: The average fuel economy will reset automatically when refueling.

Shift gear Pop-up

If you select this function, the current shift gear position is displayed in the cluster for about 2 seconds when shifting into other positions (P/R/N/D).

If you do not select this function, the shift gear Pop-up is not displayed in the cluster.

Fuel Economy Unit Choose the fuel economy unit. (US gallon, UK gallon)
Temperature Unit Choose the temperature unit. (°C,°F)
Tire Pressure Unit Choose the tire pressure unit. (psi, kPa, Bar)

Language

Choose the language. (English, French, Spanish, etc.) Vehicles equipped with the AVN (Audio/Video/Navigation) system must change the language from the AVN system.

You can start the engine with the shift lever in the N (Neutral) position. But, for your safety, we recommend that you start the engine with the shift lever in the P (Park) position.

It means that any door, hood, or trunk is open.

CAUTION
Before driving the vehicle, you should confirm that the door hood/trunk is fully closed.
Also, check there is no door/hood/trunk open warning light or message displayed on the instrument cluster.

This warning message illuminates if you turn off the engine when the sunroof is open.

  • This warning message illuminates if the brake switch fuse is disconnected.
  • It means that you should replace the fuse with a new one. If that is not possible, you can start the engine by pressing the Engine Start/Stop button for 10 seconds in the ACC position.

  • This warning message illuminates if the fuse switch under the steering wheel is OFF.
  • It means that you should turn the fuse switch on.

  • This warning message illuminates if the washer fluid level in the reservoir is nearly empty.
  • It means that you should refill the washer fluid.

  • When the low fuel level warning light is illuminated.

This warning message illuminates when the engine coolant temperature is above 248°F (120°C). This means that the engine is overheated and may be damaged.
If your vehicle is overheated, refer to “Overheating” in Chapter 6.

This warning message illuminates if there is a malfunction (burned-out bulb except for LED lamp or circuit malfunction) with the headlamp. In this case, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

NOTICE

  • When replacing the bulb, use the same wattage bulb.
    For more information, refer to “BULB WATTAGE” in chapter 8.
  • If a different wattage bulb is equipped with the vehicle, this warning message is not displayed.

  • This warning message illuminates if the sensor or cover is dirty or obscured with foreign matter such as snow. Clean the sensor or cover by using a soft cloth.
  • This warning message illuminates if there is a malfunction with the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system. In this case, have your vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

TRIP COMPUTER

Overview
The trip computer is a microcomput-er-controlled driver information system that displays information related to driving.

Information
Some driving information stored in the trip computer (for example Average Vehicle Speed) resets if the battery is disconnected.

Information
If you reset one of the trip meters, elapsed time, and average vehicle speed, they will be reset altogether.

Tripmeter (1)

  • The trip meter is the total driving distance since the last trip meter reset.
    • Distance range:
      0.0 ~ 9999.9 mi. or km
  • To reset the trip meter, press the OK button on the steering wheel for more than 1 second when the trip meter is displayed.

Average Vehicle Speed (2)

  • The average vehicle speed is calculated by the total driving distance and driving time since the last average vehicle speed reset.
    • Speed range: 0 ~ 999 MPH or km/h
  • To reset the average vehicle speed, press the OK button on the steering wheel for more than 1 second when the average vehicle speed is displayed.

Information

  • The average vehicle speed is not displayed if the driving distance has been less than 0.19 miles (300 meters) since the ignition switch or the Engine Start/Stop button was turned ON.
  • Even if the vehicle is not in motion, the average vehicle speed is calculated while the engine is running.

Elapsed Time (3)

  • The elapsed time is the total driving time since the last elapsed time reset.
    •  Time range (hh: mm): 00:00 ~ 99:59
  • To reset the elapsed time, press the OK button on the steering wheel for more than 1 second when the elapsed time is displayed.

Information
Even if the vehicle is not in motion, the elapsed time keeps running while the engine is running.

Distance To Empty (1)

  • The distance to empty is the estimated distance the vehicle can be driven with the remaining fuel.
    • Distance range: 1 ~ 9999 mi. or 1 ~ 9999 km
  • If the estimated distance is below 1 mi. (1 km), the trip computer will display “—” as the distance to empty.

Information

  • If the vehicle is not on level ground or the battery power has been interrupted, the distance to the empty function may not operate correctly.
  • The distance to empty may differ from the actual driving distance as it is an estimate of the available driving distance.
  • The trip computer may not register additional fuel if less than 1.6 gallons (6 liters) of fuel are added to the vehicle.
  • The fuel economy and distance to empty may vary significantly based on driving conditions, driving habits, and the condition of the vehicle.

Average Fuel Economy (2)

  • The average fuel economy is calculated by the total driving distance and fuel consumption since the last average fuel economy reset.
    • Fuel economy range: 0.0 ~ 99.9 MPG or L/100km or km/L
  • The average fuel economy can be reset both manually and automatically.

Manual reset
To clear the average fuel economy manually, press the OK button on the steering wheel for more than 1 second when the average fuel economy is displayed. For more information on the OK button, refer to the “LCD Display Control” in this chapter.

Automatic reset
To make the average fuel economy reset automatically whenever refueling, select the “Auto Reset” mode in the User Setting menu of the LCD (Refer to “LCD Display”). Under “Auto Reset” mode, the average fuel economy will be cleared to zero (—) when the vehicle speed exceeds 1 km/h after refueling more than 1.6 gallons (6 liters).
