Fuse Diagram and Relay: 2017 Hyundai Accent Fuses Guide
The fuse box is an important part of the 2017 Hyundai Accent’s electrical system because it keeps them safe from overloads and short circuits. With its many fuses, each one designed to handle a different electrical circuit, the fuse box controls how power is sent to all parts of the car. When too much power flows through a circuit, a fuse inside the box will blow. This will cut off the circuit and protect the connected parts from damage. To replace a fuse in a 2017 Hyundai Accent, you need to find the broken fuse by looking at the fuse diagram, which usually shows where the fuse is located and how much power it can handle. Once found, the blown fuse can be easily changed with a new one of the same amperage. This keeps the vehicle’s electrical systems safe and working properly. The fuse box needs to be checked and maintained regularly to make sure that the electrical parts of the car keep working.

A vehicle’s electrical system is protected from electrical overload damage by fuses. This vehicle has 2 fuse panels, one located in the driver’s side panel bolster, and the other in the engine compartment.
If any of your vehicle’s lights, accessories, or controls do not work, check the appropriate circuit fuse. If a fuse has blown, the element inside the fuse will be melted. If the electrical system does not work, first check the driver’s side fuse panel. Before replacing a blown fuse, move to a safe place, turn off the engine and all electric devices, and then disconnect the negative battery cable.
Always replace a blown fuse with one of the same rating.
If the replacement fuse blows, this indicates an electrical problem. Avoid using the system involved and immediately consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Three kinds of fuses are used: blade type for lower amperage ratings, cartridge type, and multi fuse for higher amperage ratings.
WARNING – Fuse replacement
- Never replace a fuse with anything but another fuse of the same rating.
- A higher capacity fuse could cause damage and possibly a fire.
- Never install a wire or aluminium foil instead of the proper fuse -even as a temporary repair. It may cause extensive wiring damage and a possible fire.
CAUTION
Do not use a screwdriver or any other metal object to remove fuses because it may cause a short circuit and damage the system.
NOTICE
The actual fuse/relay panel label may differ from the equipped items.
CAUTION
- When replacing a blown fuse or relay with a new one, make sure the new fuse or relay fits tightly into the clips. The incomplete fastening fuse or relay may cause the vehicle wiring and electric systems damage and a possible fire.
- Do not remove fuses, relays, and terminals fastened with bolts or nuts. The fuses, relays, and terminals may be fastened incompletely, and it may cause a possible fire. If fuses, relays, and terminals fastened with bolts or nuts are blown, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
- Do not input any other objects except fuses or relays into fuse/relay terminals such as a driver or wiring. It may cause contact failure and system malfunction.
Instrument panel fuse replacement
- Turn the ignition switch and all other switches off.
- Open the fuse panel cover.
- Pull the suspected fuse straight out. Use the removal tool provided in the engine compartment fuse panel.
- Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown.
- Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly in the clips.
If it fits loosely, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
If you do not have a spare, use a fuse of the same rating from a circuit you may not need for operating the vehicle, such as the cigarette lighter fuse.
If the headlights or other electrical components do not work and the fuses are OK, check the fuse panel in the engine compartment. If a fuse is blown, it must be replaced.
Memory fuse
Your vehicle is equipped with a memory fuse to prevent battery discharge if your vehicle is parked without being operated on for prolonged periods. Use the following procedures before parking the vehicle for prolonged periods.
- Turn off the engine.
- Turn off the headlights and tail lights.
- Open the driver’s side panel cover and pull up the memory fuse.
CAUTION
- Do not pull up the memory fuse and always place the memory fuse in the original position while driving the vehicle.
- Do not pull up the memory fuse repeatedly. The memory fuse may be worn out.
NOTICE
- If the memory fuse is pulled up from the fuse panel, the warning chime, audio, clock interior lamps, etc., will not operate. Some items must be reset after replacement. Refer to “Battery” in this section.
- Even though the memory fuse is pulled up, the battery can still be discharged by operation of the headlights or other electrical devices.
- If you need to park your vehicle for prolonged periods of more than 1 month, pull up the memory fuse to prevent the battery from being discharged.
Engine compartment fuse replacement
- Turn the ignition switch and all other switches off.
- Remove the fuse panel cover by pressing the tab and pulling it up.
- Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown. To remove or insert the fuse, use the fuse puller in the engine compartment fuse panel.
- Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly in the clips. If it fits loosely, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
CAUTION
After checking the fuse panel in the engine compartment, securely install the fuse panel cover. If not, electrical failures may occur from water contact.
Multi fuse
If the multi fuse is blown, replace the fuse with a new one of the same rating when the ignition switch and all other switches are off.
CAUTION
- Before removing the multi-fuse, disconnect the (-) terminal of the battery.
- Do not disassemble or assemble the multi-fuse fastened with bolts or nuts. The fuse may be fastened incompletely, and it may cause a possible fire. If the multi fuse is blown, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

FAQs
A fuse box is a component in a vehicle that houses fuses, which are designed to protect electrical circuits from excessive current flow.
Fuses need to be replaced when they blow, which occurs when there is a sudden surge of current in the electrical circuit, causing the fuse to melt and break the circuit.
If a blown fuse is not replaced, the corresponding electrical circuit will not function properly or may not work at all, potentially causing further damage to the vehicle’s electrical system.
You can visually inspect a fuse to see if the metal strip inside is intact or broken. Alternatively, you can use a multimeter to check for continuity.
The fuse box in a 2017 Hyundai Accent is typically located under the dashboard on the driver’s side or in the engine compartment.
To replace a fuse, you typically only need a fuse puller or a pair of needle-nose pliers.
To access the fuse box in a Hyundai Accent, you may need to remove a cover panel, which is usually secured with clips or screws.
Hyundai Accents typically use blade-type fuses, also known as spade or plug-in fuses.
It is not recommended to replace a fuse with a higher amp rating, as this could lead to overloading the circuit and causing damage to other components.
Consult the owner’s manual or the fuse diagram located on the inside of the fuse box cover to identify the correct fuse for the circuit in question.
Common reasons for blown fuses in a Hyundai Accent include short circuits, faulty electrical components, or overloading the circuit.
Most fuse replacements can be done by the vehicle owner without the need for professional assistance, as long as they follow safety precautions and use the correct replacement fuse.
Before replacing a fuse, it is important to turn off the vehicle’s ignition and disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shocks or damage to the vehicle’s electrical system.
