Fuse Replacement: 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe Fuse Diagrams Guide
Welcome to our in-depth information on 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe fuse replacement. Fuses are essential parts of the electrical system of your car that protect different circuits against overloads. Electrical components start to malfunction as a result of a fuse blowing, which interrupts the circuit it is meant to protect. We’ll give you comprehensive instructions on where to find, recognize, and change the fuses in your Hyundai Santa Fe in this guide. The Hyundai Santa Fe’s fuse diagram acts as a guide to the different electrical parts and the fuses that go with them. When changing fuses, it’s crucial to consult this diagram to make sure the right fuse is changed with the right amperage.

Fuse
A vehicle’s electrical system is protected from electrical overload damage by fuses. This vehicle has 2 (or 3) fuse panels, one located in the driver’s side panel bolster, and the other in the engine compartment near the battery. If any of your vehicle’s lights, accessories, or controls do not work, check the appropriate circuit fuse. If a fuse has blown, the element inside the fuse will be melted or broken. If the electrical system does not work, first check the driver’s side fuse panel. Before replacing a blown fuse, turn the engine and all switches off, and then disconnect the negative battery cable. Always replace a blown fuse with one of the same rating. If the replacement fuse blows, this indicates an electrical problem. Avoid using the system involved and immediately consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
NEVER replace a fuse with anything but another fuse of the same rating.
- A higher capacity fuse could cause damage and possibly cause a fire.
- Do not install a wire or aluminum foil instead of the proper fuse – even as a temporary repair. It may cause extensive wiring damage and possibly a fire.
NOTICE
Do not use a screwdriver or any other metal object to remove fuses because it may cause a short circuit and damage the system.
Instrument Panel Fuse Replacement
- Turn the engine off.
- Turn all other switches OFF.
- Open the fuse panel cover.
- Refer to the label on the inside of the fuse panel cover to locate the suspected fuse location.
-
Pull the suspected fuse straight out. Use the removal tool provided in the engine compartment fuse panel cover.
-
Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown. Spare fuses are provided in the instrument panel fuse panels (or in the engine compartment fuse panel).
-
Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly in the clips. If it fits loosely, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
In an emergency, if you do not have a spare fuse, use a fuse of the same rating from a circuit you may not need for operating the vehicle.
If the headlamps or other electrical components do not work and the fuses are undamaged, check the fuse panel in the engine compartment. If a fuse is blown, it must be replaced with the same rating.
Engine Compartment Panel Fuse Replacement
- Turn the engine off.
- Turn all other switches OFF.
- Remove the fuse panel cover by pressing the tap and pulling up.
- Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown. To remove or insert the fuse, use the fuse puller in the engine compartment fuse panel.
- Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly in the clips. If it fits loosely, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
CAUTION
After checking the fuse box in the engine compartment secure-ly close the fuse box cover inside the engine compartment, until it clicks.
If the fuse box is not closed properly, water may leak in side, possibly causing a malfunction with the electrical system.
Multi fuse
If the multi fuse is blown, it must be removed as follows
- Turn off the engine.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the fuse panel cover by pressing the tab and pulling it up.
- Remove the nuts shown in the picture above.
- Replace the fuse with a new one of the same rating.
- Reinstall in the reverse order of removal.
Information
If the multi fuse is blown, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

FAQs
The engine compartment of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe is normally home to the fuse box. There might be an internal fuse box as well.
Find the release tabs or screws around the outside and carefully open the fuse box cover.
You can usually change a fuse using your fingers or a pair of needle-nose pliers. It is also advised to keep extra fuses with different amperages on hand.
A broken or melted metal strip will be found inside a blown fuse. Furthermore, the fuse’s transparent portion could seem discolored.
Make sure to swap out fuses with identical amp ratings whenever possible. Electrical damage may result from the use of a higher amp fuse.
Each fuse’s location and function are shown on the fuse box cover or in the owner’s manual. It assists you in determining which fuse safeguards particular electrical components.
It is advised to use fuses that adhere to the specifications listed in the owner’s manual of your car and come from reliable brands.
There can be an underlying electrical problem if a fuse keeps blowing. Seek the advice of a qualified mechanic for additional diagnosis.
A basic toolkit with extra fuses is included in some cars. Verify the toolkit’s availability in your car.
We don’t advise doing that. Fusing with a higher amp fuse carries a risk of electrical damage and safety hazards.
Whenever you perform regular maintenance checks or troubleshoot electrical problems, make sure to regularly inspect your fuses.
To ensure safety, turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery if needed before replacing the fuses.
To keep the electrical system intact, never replace a fuse with one of a different type or specification.
To identify and resolve the issue if it continues, refer to the vehicle’s service manual or hire a qualified mechanic.
