Hyundai Kona 2020

The 2020 Hyundai Kona is a small SUV with an eye-catching style, a lot of space, and high-tech features. With its bold design and small size, the Kona stands out from other cars in its class. It comes in different trim levels, and each one has its own features and choices. Hyundai’s current design language can be seen on the outside of the Kona, which has sculpted lines, an aggressive front grille, and unique lighting elements. It has sleek headlights, LED daytime running lights, and choices like alloy wheels and roofs with different colours. The look as a whole is active, sporty, and young.
The cabin of the Kona is well-designed and cosy. Even though the Kona is small, both the front and back seats have plenty of space and legroom. The inside is made of high-quality materials and has easy-to-use buttons and a variety of features. These may include a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, Bluetooth connection, USB ports, and extras like a premium audio system, wireless charging, and a heads-up display.

There are different powertrain choices for the Kona, so it can be driven in different ways. The base engine is usually a 2.0-litre four-cylinder that strikes a good mix between speed and gas mileage. There may be a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine for those who want more speed. Depending on the engine, you can choose between a six-speed automatic or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. All-wheel drive is offered to make the car more stable and easy to drive.
When it comes to safety, the Kona has a lot of high-tech safety features. Some of these are forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot tracking, rear cross-traffic alert, and a rearview camera. It puts the safety and health of both the driver and the people in the car first.
The 2020 Hyundai Kona is a comfy and fun car to drive. It handles well, is easy to move around in, and has a well-tuned suspension for a smooth ride. It also gets good gas mileage, with the EPA estimating that it averages around 30 mpg combined.
Overall, the Hyundai Kona 2020 is a stylish and versatile compact SUV with a wide range of features, good performance, and modern safety technology. It is a good choice for people who want a comfy, well-equipped car for both everyday driving and longer trips.

Airbag inflation conditions

Front airbags
Front air bags are designed to inflate in a frontal collision depending on the severity of the impact of the front collision

Side and curtain airbags
Side and curtain airbags are designed to inflate when an impact is detected by side collision sensors depending on the severity of the impact resulting from a side impact collision Although the driver’s and front passenger’s airbags are designed to inflate only in frontal collisions, they also may inflate in other types of collisions if the front impact sensors detect a sufficient impact. Side and curtain airbags are designed to inflate only in side impact collisions or rollover situations, but they may inflate in other collisions if the side impact sensors detect a sufficient impact. If the vehicle chassis is impacted by bumps or objects on unimproved roads, the airbags may deploy. Drive carefully on unimproved roads or on surfaces not designed for vehicle traffic to prevent unintended air bag deployment.

Air bag non-inflation conditions
In certain low-speed collisions, the airbags may not deploy. The airbags are designed not to deploy in such cases because they may not provide benefits beyond the protection of the seat belts. Front airbags are not designed to inflate in rear collisions, because occupants are moved backward by the force of the impact. In this case, inflated airbags would not provide any additional benefit. Front airbags may not inflate in side impact collisions, because occupants move in the direction of the collision, and thus in side impacts, front airbag deployment would not provide additional occupant protection. However, side and curtain airbags may inflate depending on the severity of the impact. In an angled collision, the force of impact may direct the occupants in a direction where the airbags would not be able to provide any additional benefit, and thus the sensors may not deploy any airbags. Just before impact, drivers often brake heavily. Such heavy braking lowers the front portion of the vehicle causing it to “ride” under a vehicle with a higher ground clearance. Airbags may not inflate in this “underride” situation because deceleration forces that are detected by sensors may be significantly reduced by such “underride” collisions. Front airbags may not inflate in rollover accidents because airbag deployment could not provide protection to the occupants. However, side and curtain airbags may inflate when the vehicle is rolled over by a side-impact collision. Air bags may not inflate if the vehicle collides with objects such as utility poles or trees, where the point of impact is concentrated and the collision energy is absorbed by the vehicle structure.

SRS Care
The SRS is virtually maintenance free and there are no parts you can safely service by yourself. If the SRS airbag warning light does not illuminate when the ignition switch is in the ON position, or continuously remains on, have your vehicle immediately inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Any work on the SRS system, such as removing, installing, repairing, or any work on the steering wheel, the front passenger’s panel, front seats and roof rails must be performed by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Improper handling of the SRS system may result in serious personal injury.

WARNING
To reduce the risk of serious injury or death, take the following precautions:

  • Do not attempt to modify or disconnect the SRS components or wiring, including the addition of any kind of badges to the pad covers or modifications to the body structure.
  • Do not place objects over or near the airbag modules on the steering wheel, instrument the panel, or the front passenger’s panel above the glove box.
  • Clean the air bag pad covers with a soft cloth moistened with plain water. Solvents or cleaners could adversely affect the airbag covers and proper deployment of the system.
Always have inflated airbags replaced by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
  • If components of the air bag the system must be discarded, or if the vehicle must be scrapped, certain safety precautions must be observed. Consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer for the necessary information. Failure to follow these precautions could increase the risk of personal injury.

Additional Safety Precautions
Passengers should not move out of or change seats while the vehicle is moving. A passenger who is not wearing a seat belt during a crash or emergency stop can be thrown against the inside of the vehicle, against other occupants, or be ejected from the vehicle.

Do not use any accessories on
seat belts. Devices claiming to improve occupant comfort or reposition the seat belt can reduce the protection provided by the seat belt and increase the chance of serious injury in a crash.

Do not modify the front seats.
Modification of the front seats could interfere with the operation of the supplemental restraint system sensing components or side air bags.

Do not place items under the front
seats. Placing items under the front seats could interfere with the operation of the supplemental restraint system sensing components and wiring harnesses.

Do not cause an impact to the doors.
Impact to the doors when the Engine The start/Stop button is in the ON position may cause the airbags to inflate.

Modifications to accommodate
disabilities. If you require modification to your vehicle to accommodate a disability, contact the HYUNDAI Customer Connect Center at 800-

Adding equipment to or modifying your air bag-equipped vehicle
If you modify your vehicle by changing your vehicle’s frame, bumper system, front end or side sheet metal or ride height, this may affect the operation of your vehicle’s airbag system. Air Bag Warning Labels Airbag warning labels, required by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), are attached to alert the driver and passengers of potential risks of the airbag system. Be sure to read all of the information about the airbags that are installed on your vehicle in this Owner’s Manual.

Mechanical key
If the remote key does not operate normally, you can lock or unlock the driver’s door by using the mechanical key. To unfold the mechanical key, press the release button on the remote. To return the key to its stored position, press the release button and fold the key back into the remote.
