Replacing Fuses: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Fuse Diagram and Relay
Figuring out how to change the relays and fuse box in a 2014 Hyundai Genesis is like going on a trip through the car’s circulatory system, where accuracy meets usefulness. This important part of repair is like decoding the car’s electrical DNA; it makes sure everything works right and fixes any problems that might happen. Each fuse is like a watchdog that keeps an eye out for electrical problems, and the detailed fuse layout shows you how to get through the maze of circuits. The relay system shines light on this complicated web, which coordinates the vehicle’s different parts and plays the music of power distribution. When starting to replace something, it’s important to carefully understand this diagram. This turns the job from a simple technicality into a proactive safety ritual. In this way, replacing a fuse in a 2014 Hyundai Genesis isn’t just a mechanical task; it’s a trip into the heart of automotive intelligence, where careful work keeps the vehicle’s electrical system alive.

FUSES
A vehicle’s electrical system is protected from electrical overload damage by fuses. This vehicle has 4 fuse panels, two located in the driver’s side and passenger’s side panel bolster, the others are in the engine compartment. If any of your vehicle’s lights, accessories, or controls do not work, check the appropriate circuit fuse. If a fuse has blown, the element inside the fuse will be melted. If the electrical system does not work, first check the driver’s side fuse panel. Before replacing a blown fuse, disconnect the negative battery cable. Always replace a blown fuse with one of the same rating. If the replacement fuse blows, this indicates an electrical problem. Avoid using the system involved and immediately consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Three kinds of fuses are used: blade type for lower amperage ratings, cartridge type, and fusible link for higher amperage ratings.
WARNING – Fuse replacement
- Never replace a fuse with anything but another fuse of the same rating.
- A higher capacity fuse could cause damage and possibly a fire.
- Never install a wire or aluminium foil instead of the proper fuse – even as a temporary repair. It may cause extensive wiring damage and a possible fire.
CAUTION
Do not use a screwdriver or any other metal object to remove fuses because it may cause a short circuit and damage the system.
NOTICE
The actual fuse/relay panel label may differ from the equipped items.
CAUTION
- When replacing a blown fuse or relay with a new one, make sure the new fuse or relay fits tightly into the clips The incomplete fastening fuse or relay may cause the vehicle wiring and electric systems damage and a possible fire.
- Do not remove fuses, relays and terminals fastened with bolts or nuts. The fuses, relays and terminals may be fastened incompletely, and it may cause a possible fire. If fuses, relays and terminals fastened with bolts or nuts are blown, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
- Do not input any other objects except fuses or relays into fuse/relay terminals such as a driver or wiring. It may cause contact failure and system malfunction.
Inner panel fuse replacement
- Turn the ignition switch and all other switches off.
- Open the fuse panel cover.
- Pull the suspected fuse straight out. Use the removal tool provided in the front passenger’s side panel.
- Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown. Spare fuses are provided in the passenger compartment panel fuse panels (or in the engine compartment fuse panel).
- Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly in the clips.
If it fits loosely, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. If you do not have a spare, use a fuse of the same rating from a circuit you may not need for operating the vehicle, such as the cigarette lighter fuse. If the headlights or other electrical components do not work and the fuses are OK, check the fuse panel in the engine compartment. If a fuse is blown, it must be replaced.
Memory fuse
Your vehicle is equipped with a memory fuse to prevent battery discharge if your vehicle is parked without being operated for prolonged periods. Use the following procedures before parking the vehicle for prolonged periods.
- Turn off the engine.
- Turn off the headlights and tail lights.
- Open the driver’s side panel cover and pull up the memory fuse.
✽ NOTICE
- If the memory fuse is pulled up from the fuse panel, the warning chime, audio, clock and interior lamps, etc., will not operate. Some items must be reset after replacement. Refer to “Battery” in this section.
- Even when the memory fuse is pulled up, the battery can still be discharged by operation of the headlights or other electrical devices.
Engine compartment fuse replacement
- Turn the ignition switch and all other switches off.
- Remove the fuse panel cover by pressing the tab and pulling up.
- Check the removed fuse; replace it if it is blown. To remove or insert the fuse, use the fuse puller in the front passenger’s side panel.
- Push in a new fuse of the same rating, and make sure it fits tightly in the clips. If it fits loosely, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
CAUTION
After checking the fuse panel in the engine compartment, securely install the fuse panel cover. If not, electrical failures may occur from water contact.
Main fuse
If the main fuse is blown, it must be removed as follows:
- Remove the fuse panel cover on the right side in the engine compartment.
- Remove the nuts shown in the picture above.
- Replace the fuse with a new one of the same rating.
- Reinstall in the reverse order of removal.
✽ NOTICE
If the main fuse is blown, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer

FAQs
Fuses protect electrical components from overloads or faults. If a specific system malfunctions, replacing a blown fuse can restore functionality.
The fuse box is typically located in accessible areas like the engine compartment or the interior of the vehicle.
Visually inspect the fuse for a broken wire or a discolored appearance. Use a multimeter to check for continuity if needed.
The fuse diagram provides details about the location and amperage rating of each fuse.
No, it’s crucial to replace a blown fuse with one of the same amperage to prevent damage to the electrical system.
Check fuses during routine maintenance or when experiencing electrical issues. Replace as needed to maintain optimal vehicle performance.
Typically, a fuse puller or a pair of pliers is sufficient to remove the blown fuse and a replacement fuse of the correct amperage.
Many fuse replacements are DIY-friendly. However, if unsure, seek professional assistance to avoid electrical hazards.
While there’s no strict order, replacing fuses one at a time can help avoid confusion.
In most cases, simply replacing the fuse with a new one of the same amperage should reset the system. If issues persist, consult a professional.
Ensure the vehicle is turned off before working with the fuse box to avoid electrical shocks. If uncertain, seek professional assistance.
Check with the manufacturer or a Hyundai dealership for any recalls or common issues related to fuses in your specific model year.
It’s recommended to use the specified fuse types (blade-type or mini-blade) as indicated in the to ensure compatibility.
Refer to the fuse diagram to identify fuses related to critical systems such as the engine, lights, or safety features.
