Instrument Panel: 2024 Infiniti Q50 Dashboard Guide
Located in the center of the cabin of the 2024 Infiniti Q50, the instrument panel dashboard serves as a vital component that gives drivers access to crucial controls and information. A digital speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, and digital display are typical elements of this panel. While the tachometer helps with gear selection and engine monitoring, it monitors engine RPM and provides a clear perspective of your vehicle’s speed.

- Warning and indicator lights
- Speedometer*
- Engine coolant temperature gauge*
- Vehicle information display/ Odometer/twin trip odometer
- Fuel gauge*
*: The needle indicators may move slightly after the ignition switch is placed in the OFF position. This is not a malfunction.
CAUTION
- For cleaning, use a soft cloth, dampened with water. Never use a rough cloth, alcohol, benzine, thinner or any kind of solvent or paper towel with a chemical cleaning agent. They will scratch or cause discoloration to the lens.
- Do not spray any liquid such as water on the meter lens. Spraying liquid may cause the system to malfunction.
SPEEDOMETER AND ODOMETER
Speedometer
The speedometer indicates vehicle speed in miles per hour (MPH) and kilometers per hour (km/h).
Odometer/twin trip odometer
- The odometer 1 and twin trip odometer 2 are displayed in the vehicle information display when the ignition switch is in the ON position.
- The odometer records the total distance the vehicle has been driven.
- The twin trip odometer records the distance of individual trips.
Changing the display:
Pushing the TRIP RESET switch 3 under the combination meter panel changes the display as follows:
- TRIP A → TRIP B → TRIP A
Resetting the trip odometer:
Pushing the TRIP RESET switch 3 for more than 1 second resets the trip odometer to zero.
TACHOMETER
The tachometer indicates engine speed in revolutions per minute (RPM). Do not rev the engine into the red zone 1.
CAUTION
When engine speed approaches the red zone, shift to a higher gear or reduce engine speed. Operating the engine in the red zone may cause serious engine damage.
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE
- The gauge indicates the engine coolant temperature.
- The engine coolant temperature is within the normal range when the gauge needle points within the zone 1 shown in the illustration.
- The engine coolant temperature varies with the outside air temperature and driving conditions.
CAUTION
If the gauge indicates the engine coolant temperature is near the hot (H) end of the normal range, reduce vehicle speed to decrease the temperature. If the gauge is over the normal range, stop the vehicle as soon as safely possible and let the engine idle. If the engine is overheated, continued operation of the vehicle may seriously damage the engine.
See “If your vehicle overheats” for immediate action required.
FUEL GAUGE
- The gauge indicates the approximate fuel level in the tank.
- The gauge may move slightly during braking, turning, acceleration, or going up or down hills.
- The gauge needle returns to “0” (Empty) after the ignition switch is pushed to the OFF position.
- Refill the fuel tank before the gauge registers “0” (Empty).
- The low fuel warning light
illuminates on the meter when the fuel level is getting low.
- Refuel as soon as it is convenient, preferably before the gauge reaches “0”. There will be a small reserve of fuel in the tank when the fuel gauge needle reaches “0”.
- The
indicates that the fuel-filler door is located on the right side of the vehicle.
CAUTION
- If the vehicle runs out of fuel, the
malfunction indicator light (MIL) may come on. Refuel as soon as possible. After a few driving trips, the
light should turn off. If the light remains on after a few driving trips, have the vehicle inspected? It is recommended you visit an INFINITI retailer for this service.
- For additional information, see “Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL)”).
FAQs
The instrument panel typically includes a digital speedometer, a tachometer, a fuel gauge, and a digital display.
The digital speedometer provides a clear and precise display of your vehicle’s speed in either miles per hour (mph) or kilometers per hour (km/h). It’s crucial to monitor your speed while driving.
The tachometer measures the engine’s revolutions per minute (RPM), helping you monitor engine performance and make informed gear-shift decisions, especially in manual transmissions.
The fuel gauge indicates the level of fuel in your vehicle’s tank, allowing you to keep track of your fuel consumption and plan refueling stops.
The digital display can show various information, including trip data (distance traveled, fuel economy), navigation directions, safety alerts (like low tire pressure), and customizable vehicle settings.
Yes, you can typically customize the digital display to prioritize the information that’s most relevant to you using vehicle settings or controls on the steering wheel.
You can usually navigate through the menus and select options using controls located on the steering wheel, allowing you to make adjustments without taking your hands off the wheel.
Yes, safety alerts such as low tire pressure, check engine notifications, and other warnings are displayed on the digital display to keep you informed about the vehicle’s condition.
Some Q50 models may feature navigation directions and turn-by-turn instructions within the instrument panel, making it easier to follow routes without looking away from the road.
The instrument panel provides real-time data, enhancing driver awareness, safety, and convenience by offering essential information at a glance.
