2019 Jeep Compass Fuses and Fuse Box | Replacing a blown fuse

The 2019 Jeep Compass has a strong electrical system, and its fuse box plays an important role in protecting various components by preventing electrical overload. In this introduction, we will look at fuses and the fuse box, explaining their importance and providing essential information on how to replace a blown fuse. The fuse box in the 2019 Jeep Compass is an essential part of the vehicle’s electrical system. Fuses are intended to protect electronic systems and components by cutting off the electrical circuit in the event of a power surge or overload. Each fuse is assigned to a specific electrical function, such as the lights or the power windows, to ensure that a fault in one system does not affect the entire vehicle.

FUSES

WARNING!

  • When replacing a blown fuse, always use an appropriate replacement fuse with the same amp rating as the original fuse. Never replace a fuse with another fuse of higher amp rating. Never replace a blown fuse with metal wires or any other material. Do not place a fuse inside a circuit breaker cavity or vice versa. Failure to use proper fuses may result in serious personal injury, fire and/or property damage.
  • Before replacing a fuse, make sure that the ignition is off and that all the other services are switched off and/or disengaged.
  • If the replaced fuse blows again, contact an authorized dealer.
  • If a general protection fuse for safety systems (air bag system, braking system), power unit systems (engine system, transmission system) or steering system blows, contact an authorized dealer.

General Information

The fuses protect electrical systems against excessive current.
When a device does not work, you must check the fuse element inside the blade fuse for a break/melt.
Also, please be aware that when using power outlets for extended periods of time with the engine off may result in vehicle battery discharge.

FAQs

Where is the fuse box located in a 2019 Jeep Compass?

The fuse box in the 2019 Jeep Compass is typically found in the engine compartment.

How do I open the fuse box cover?

To open the fuse box cover, gently press the tabs on the sides and lift to access the fuses.

What tools do I need to replace a fuse?

A fuse puller or needle-nose pliers are usually sufficient.

What tools do I need to replace a fuse?

Look for a broken metal strip inside the fuse. If it’s broken, the fuse is probably blown.

What type of fuses does the 2019 Jeep Compass use?

The 2019 Jeep Compass typically uses mini blade fuses.

Can I use a higher amp fuse to replace a blown one?

Always replace fuses with the same amp rating. Using a higher amperage fuse can cause electrical system damage.

How do I know the amp rating of a fuse?

The fuse’s amp rating is usually indicated on the top or end.

What should I do if a fuse keeps blowing repeatedly?

There could be an electrical issue. Consult a professional mechanic for diagnostics.

Can I replace a fuse with a different color?

Follow the recommended color coding for fuses. Different colors may indicate varying amp ratings.

How do I use a fuse puller?

To avoid electrical shock, disconnect the battery before replacing fuses.

Is it safe to replace fuses with the battery connected?

Insert the puller over the blown fuse, gently squeeze, and pull it out.

What if I can’t find the cause of a recurrent blown fuse?

Seek professional help. There could be an underlying electrical issue that requires expert diagnosis.

Can I use a fuse of a different brand?

Choose reputable brands that meet your vehicle’s recommended specifications.

How often should I check and replace fuses in my Jeep Compass?

Inspect fuses regularly and replace any that are blown. Consider checking them during regular maintenance.
