FUSES
General Information
WARNING!
- When replacing a blown fuse, always use an appropriate replacement fuse with the same amp rating as the original fuse. Never replace a fuse with another fuse of a higher amp rating. The use of a fuse with a rating other than indicated may result in a dangerous electrical system overload. If a properly rated fuse continues to blow, it indicates a problem in the circuit that must be corrected. Never replace a blown fuse with metal wires or any other material. Failure to use proper fuses may result in serious personal injury, fire, and/or property damage.
- Before replacing a fuse, make sure that the ignition is off and that all the other services are switched off and/or disengaged.
- If the replaced fuse blows again, contact an authorized dealer.
- If a general protection fuse for safety systems (air bag system, braking system), power unit systems (engine system, gearbox system), or steering system blows, contact an authorized dealer.
The fuses protect electrical systems against excessive current.
When a device does not work, you must check the fuse element inside the blade fuse for a break/melt.
Also, please be aware that using power outlets for extended periods with the engine off may result in vehicle battery discharge.
Blade Fuses
- Fuse Element
- Blade Fuse with a good/functional fuse element
- Blade Fuse with a bad/not functional fuse element (blown fuse)
Power Distribution Center
The Power Distribution Centers (PDC) are located in the engine compartment near the battery. This center contains cartridge fuses, mini fuses, and relays. The PDC top cover is labeled with each serviceable fuse/relay location, function, and size.
CAUTION!
When installing the power distribution center cover, it is important to ensure the cover is properly positioned and fully latched. Failure to do so may allow water to get into the power distribution center and possibly result in an electrical system failure.

FAQs
Fuses in the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe serve to protect various electrical components by interrupting the circuit in case of a power surge or short circuit.
The number of fuses in the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe can vary depending on the specific model and configuration, but there are typically multiple fuses for different electrical systems.
The headlight circuit is usually protected by a specific fuse.
Before replacing a fuse, it’s crucial to turn off the vehicle and disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Additionally, always use the correct amperage fuse as specified in the guide.
The fuse box location may vary, but it is commonly found in the engine compartment or under the dashboard.
The “M” designation may indicate a maxi-fuse, which is a larger fuse designed to handle higher amperages. These are typically used for major electrical systems.
Visual inspection is the most common method. A blown fuse will have a broken or melted metal strip inside. The fuse instruction guide should have information on how to identify a blown fuse.
Many fuses are user-serviceable, and the fuse instruction guide will provide guidance on which ones can be replaced by the owner and which may require professional assistance.
The fuse instruction guide will specify the fuse related to the air conditioning system. It is essential to consult the guide for accurate information.
The recommended procedure usually involves visually inspecting each fuse, using a fuse puller if necessary, and referring to the fuse instruction guide for details on fuse locations and amperages.
Regular inspection is advisable during routine maintenance checks. However, replacement frequency may vary depending on the vehicle’s usage and electrical system conditions.
The vehicle may have built-in safety features, and the fuse system is one of them. Fuses are designed to protect electrical components from damage, preventing more extensive issues.
The ability to operate with a blown fuse depends on the function of that particular fuse. Critical systems may render the vehicle inoperable if their corresponding fuses are blown.
The fuse instruction guide will provide information on the fuse related to the electronic stability control system, ensuring proper identification and replacement if needed.
