CHANGING A FUSE
Fuses
WARNING: Always replace a fuse with one that has the specified amperage rating. Using a fuse with a higher amperage rating can cause severe wire damage and could start a fire.
If electrical components in the vehicle are not working, a fuse may have blown. Blown fuses are identified by a broken wire within the fuse

FAQs
Typically, the fuse box is located in easily accessible areas of the vehicle, such as the engine compartment or the interior cabin. For more information, consult your owner’s manual.
A blown fuse can be identified by inspecting the metal filament inside. If the filament is broken, the fuse is most likely blown and must be replaced.
For checking and replacing fuses, basic tools such as a fuse puller and a fuse tester can come in handy.
A broken filament can be identified visually by inspecting the fuse. A fuse tester, on the other hand, can provide a more accurate diagnosis.
Checking the fuses during routine maintenance or whenever you encounter electrical problems in the vehicle is a good practice.
Check the fuse box for the corresponding fuse for that component. Replace the blown fuse with one of the same amperage.
No, it is not suggested. To avoid electrical system damage, always replace fuses with the same amperage.
Some vehicles may include spare fuses in the fuse box. To be sure, consult your owner’s manual.
The fuse box diagram, which is usually found in the owner’s manual, shows the location and amperage of each fuse, allowing you to identify the one associated with a particular component.
Yes, as long as the replacement fuse has the same amperage rating as the original, it is appropriate for the intended electrical component.
There is no particular order. Check fuses based on the component or system that is not working properly.
Place the fuse puller over the blown fuse, squeeze, and pull it out. To avoid damaging the fuse or the fuse box, proceed with caution.
To avoid electrical shock and ensure accurate readings, check fuses with the ignition turned off.
If the problem persists, a deeper electrical problem may exist, and it is best to consult a professional mechanic.
It is strongly advised to avoid tampering with critical system fuses, such as those associated with airbags or ABS. If such problems arise, seek the advice of a professional.
