ENVIRONMENTAL NOTE Environmental damage due to operating conditions and personal driving style The pollutant emission of the vehicle is directly related to the way you operate the vehicle.
Operate your vehicle in an environmentally responsible manner to help protect the envi‐ronment. Please observe the following rec‐ommendations on operating conditions and personal driving style.

Operating conditions:

  1. Make sure that the tire pressure is correct.
  2. Do not carry any unnecessary weight (e.g. roof luggage racks once you no longer need them).
  3. Adhere to the service intervals. A regularly serviced vehicle will contribute to environmental protection.
  4. Always have maintenance work carried out at a qualified specialist workshop.

Personal driving style:

  1. Do not depress the accelerator pedal when starting the engine.
  2. Do not warm up the engine while the vehicle is stationary.
  3. Drive carefully and maintain a suitable distance from the vehicle in front.
  4. Avoid frequent, sudden acceleration and braking.
  5. Change gear in good time and use each gear only up to Ô of its maximum engine speed.
  6. Switch off the engine in stationary traffic, e.g. by using the ECO start/stop function.
  7. Drive fuel-efficiently. Observe the ECO display for a fuel-efficient driving style.

ENVIRONMENTAL NOTE Environmental damage due to not using recycled recon‐ditioned components
Mercedes‑Benz AG offers recycled recondi‐tioned components and parts with the same quality as new parts. The same entitlement from the Limited Warranty is valid as for new parts. Use recycled reconditioned compo‐nents and parts from Mercedes‑Benz AG.

NOTE: Impairment of the operating efficiency of the restraint systems from installing accessory parts or from repairs or welding.

Airbags and Emergency Tensioning Devices, as well as control units and sensors for the restraint systems, may be installed in the following areas of your vehicle:

  1. Doors
  2. Door pillars
  3. Door sills
  4. Seats
  5. Cockpit
  6. Instrument cluster
  7. Center console
  8. Lateral roof frame
  9. Do not install accessory parts such as audio systems in these areas.
  10. Do not carry out repairs or welding.

You could jeopardize the operating safety of your vehicle if you use parts, tires and wheels as well as accessories relevant to safety which have not been approved by Mercedes-Benz. Safety-relevant systems, e.g. the brake system, may mal‐function. Only use Mercedes-Benz GenuineParts or parts of equal quality. Only use tires, wheels and accessories that have been specifically approved for your vehicle model.

Operator’s Manual
This Operator’s Manual describes all models and all standard and optional equipment available for your vehicle at the time of this Operator’s Manual going to press. Country-specific differences are possible. Note that your vehicle may not be equipped with all features described. This is also the case for systems and functions relevant to safety. Therefore, the equipment on your vehicle may differ from that in the descriptions and illustrations. The original purchase agreement for your vehicle contains a list of all of the systems in your vehicle. Should you have any questions concerning equipment and operation, please consult an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center. The Operator’s Manual and Maintenance Booklet are important documents and should be kept in the vehicle.

Vehicle operation outside the USA or Canada
When you are abroad with your vehicle, observe the following points:

  1. Service points or replacement parts may not be available immediately.
  2. Unleaded fuel may not be available for vehicles with a catalytic converter. Leaded fuel may cause damage to the catalytic converter.
  3. The fuel may have an extremely low octane number. Unsuitable fuel can cause engine damage.

If you sell your Mercedes, please leave all literature in the vehicle so that it is available to the next owner.
