Fuses and fuseboxes
All electrical functions and components are protected by a number of fuses in order to protect the vehicle’s electrical system from damage by short-circuiting or overloading.
WARNING
Never use a foreign object or a fuse with a higher amperage than that specified to replace a fuse. This could cause significant damage to the electrical system and possibly lead to a fire.
WARNING
Orange wiring may only be handled by qualified personnel.
WARNING
Several components in the vehicle work with high voltage that can be hazardous in case of an incorrect procedure. Do not touch anything not clearly described in this Owner’s Manual.
If any electrical component or function is not responding, the component may have blown a fuse due to temporary overload. If the same fuse blows repeatedly, there may be a problem with the component. Volvo recommends contacting an authorized Volvo workshop to have the components checked.

All electrical functions and components are protected by several fuses to protect the vehicle’s electrical system from damage by short-circuiting or overloading.
- Refer to the fuse diagram to locate the fuse.
- Pull out the fuse and examine it from the side to determine if the curved metal wire in the fuse is intact.
- If the wire is broken, replace the fuse with a new fuse of the same colour and amperage.
WARNING
Never use a foreign object or a fuse with a higher amperage than that specified to replace a fuse. This could cause significant damage to the electrical system and possibly lead to a fire.
WARNING
Contact an authorized Volvo workshop for assistance replacing fuses not listed in the Owner’s Manual. If performed incorrectly, significant damage can be caused to the electrical system.

To access the fuse box, you’ll need to remove the cover by unlatching the clips or screws holding it in place.
The 2019 Volvo XC90 T8 uses blade-type fuses, which are also known as mini fuses.
Refer to the owner’s manual or a fuse diagram usually located on the inside of the fuse box cover.
Replace the blown fuse with one of the same amperage rating to ensure the proper function of the component it protects.
No, it’s essential to replace a blown fuse with one of the same amperage rating to avoid damaging the electrical system.
Replacement fuses are readily available at auto parts stores, online retailers, and Volvo dealerships.
You can use a fuse tester or a multimeter to check if a fuse is blown without removing it from its socket.
Yes, a blown fuse often has a visible break in the wire inside the fuse, making it easy to identify.
